You can get your record expunged. Expungement does not clear your record all the way. It only makes it so most employers cant view it. Your still will not be able to own weapons and your record can still be used against you.
Felony records are harder to get off than misdimeanor also.
yup and you cant get it expunged untill your off parole or probation

Thats good to hear, thats the type of prison reform that should be happening. The prison system here is apparently suppose to "reform" criminals into changing their life around but its almost impossible for that to happen with how the criminal and prison system is set up. So in turn, chances are if you've been convicted once, you'll end up going back behind bars again. I have the upmost respect for people who can turn their life around and educate themselves and take a positive role in society.
I respect those who strive to better themselves, and don't let their past mistakes continue.

But don't blame the system for this. It may be a factor, but it is not THE reason.

Understandable. But aside from whatever it is their deal is lots of felons dont know they can vote. Now they do.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say despite this "new" information, I'm sure that most felons aint voting anyways, generally speaking. But more power to turfpolitishunz for stepping it up.

Obviously the system is not the one harboring criminals, its only a contributing factor to the increase in the prison population like you said. If we probably knew where the root of crime was, there wouldnt be so many people in prison. In my opnion a lot of criminal mentality begins in the house and quickly spreads to the streets with all the "role models" out there. If we want reduce the growing prison population we have to get these kids when they're young. This is when they are learning the most and they are likely to become like the people who surround them.
