Every time I add text to a vector image, my illustrator cs2 bugs out. When I try to save it says 'Error has occurred' and I am unable to save it and have to close out. This only happens when I add text. Has anyone else had this problem? I tried to google and find a solution and uninstall and reinstall and still no luck. It's really fuckin' up my work getting to a point and not being able to save. Props for any help.

Yeh I was thinking about downgrading but I really need the Live Trace and Paint functions for a project I'm working on. I checked the adobe site and made some changes, deleted the preferences file, now I'm getting a Runtime error

Found the solution...

I know theres not many Illustrator users in here, but in case anyone else was having similar problems, I found an solution to my problems. For some reason, Illustrator CS2 and even previous versions have problems saving text layers in .ai format. So, if you add text to an Illustrator file and get a message that says 'An unknown error has occurred' you have to do one of two things:

Convert your text to outlines, then save OR uncheck 'save as pdf compatible file'. If you chose option 2, you cannot open the AI in Photoshop.

It is also possible to save it as .EPS ...
