Who SHOULD be on top in your opinion?

I swear anytime someone rises to the top like 50, The Game, Baby Bash etc etc no one has nothing nice to say about their success up in here. My question is.. is there anyone yall would be satisfied with recieving nationwide success? If 50 doesn't deserve all the shine he has in your opinion, who should be there in his place?

I'd like to see the Mob Figaz on top, but if they did bet muthafuckas would be hating on them just like everyone else.

Thing is when you are on a big label, you have to do the kind of songs the label wants you to do. I guess people don't understand that shit. If Mess, Quinn or whoever was signed to a super deal with Universial, Sony or Interscope one of the other big labels you bet your ass they would be doing the same club songs and shit that all them other cats do. Its the business folks, them fuckers pretty much own your ass when you are under contract.

yep .. it's fucking retarded. a lot of people that like underground like it for all the wrong reasons. they like because no one else knows what it is .. no matter how much they rappers might suck they'll say it's tight just because it's underground. when that same rapper starts to get a little shine that rapper is no longer tight to them it's hilarious. they talk about kids they listen to everything on MTV because it's on MTV but yet they do the same thing just backwards ..

This is true. People are finnicky like that. Personally I just listen to whatever I like. The way I feel, rap overall just sucks except for a few Bay artists. And that aint no bias shit. The East is puttin out garbage, the South is puttin out garbage, the midwest is puttin out garbage, LA is puttin out garbage, the Bay is the only place makin good rap right now, and even here you gotta weed through hella garbage to get to the good shit.

Tech N9ne, Do or Die, etc.

Some people at the top deserve it, I think. Just not Baby Bash or 50.

Common, Kweli, Dr. Dre, Nas, old Bone, they all deserve a spot at the top. I wont even hate on Kanye.

Eminem is okay, but even he "sold out" on his last CD, and by "sell out", I mean i can no longer relate to his shit, and I think he let his gimmick take over his image.

But how can I relate to 50 cent? Do I have any of his cars? Go to any of his clubs? Fuck girls that often? Smoke weed that good? Dress as well? Probably not. Did you ever hear his shit when he was underground? He was fuckin nasty, he had some good punches and shit too. Even Get Rich or Die Trying he had some good lines that made you think he was half-intelligent. Now all of his shit lacks an ounce of creativity.

Give me something I can relate to, don't let the money go to your fucking head, and get on my page, and I'll give you some props. I think Tech N9ne has the talent to get to the top, but he also has the content to remain original and unphased by success.

To me, 50 cent is like the musical form of a television commercial: buy this, buy that, this is cool, this isn't. Fuck that, I dont want a TV commercial, I want a TV show or a book or a movie. Something real to life, that I can relate to, that's interesting and new and thoughtful and intelligent.

This is one of the most loaded questions you can ask. The responses show how much people don't know and don't understand about success, the music business, or just business in general. I don't think many of you even know what 'being on top' means. Cats are clueless, point blank and the irony is when they try to describe something they don't understand by using terms like "sell out" or whatever other stupid shit.

While your favorite local rappers are busy pretend-pimpin', selling dope, gettin' high, gettin' drunk, poppin' pills, going to clubs, and whatever else, cats at the top are busy working their ass off and making shit happen. That's the difference between a real boss and a wannabe. You'll never hear a successful person say another successful person doesn't deserve what they have... So who deserves to be on top? The ones who are there right now. They've earned it.

Yeah I feel the same way Sick WId It said. These cats worked relentlessly to be different. Everyone raps about the same fuckin shit!!!

And to say Baby Bash is a sell out is ridiculous!! Baby Bash is reppin' the Bay the best he can. Just because all his singles have been for females doesn't mean he's garbage. I happen to like his flow from when he was Baby Beesh and i'm still feelin' his flow as Baby Bash! If you haven't heard his new album than I don't like you should comment on him. I think his album was the most diverse album i've purchased this year.

Once you are signed to a major label you have to make music the label wants you too. After all, they're paying you big money to be under their label.

Mob Figaz is weak, they will never make it to mainstream success.

baby bash is on top?

anyway - i think 50 deserves his shit, because he's a good hook writer...... his verses suck & as a person, hes a cock sucking snitch.... but he makes catchy tunes.

game deserves to, because his verses are decent..... he mixes the multis in with the studio gangsta shit, which is something i wouldnt be ashamed of bumping.

baby bash..... baby bash is no where close to THE TOP, never will be. dudes about as talented as Nick Cannon.

I threw Bash into the mix because he is from the bay and he has gotten more shine than anyone from the bay in awhile yet hella heads from the bay talk shit about him. Beesh was a fuckin sav back in the day, don't believe me soak up some Potna Duece or the old N2Deep/ Latino Velvet albums. Hes not a lyrical powerhouse but he spit some cool bay pimp shit.

I don't get how people can talk bad on the Game, his album was hella tight IMO. The beats were hella on point, he spit some solid lyrics, good stories, good punchlines. Only thing i didn't like about that album was how youd have to hear that G-g-g-Unit shit at the end of every song. I'd probably like G-Unit as a whole alot more if they didn't brand everything with that gimmicky catch phrase.

I gotta disagree with dude who said the Mob Figaz are weak, you must have not heard either or the Jackas Solos or Ridah's solo cuz they are all master pieces if you ask me.

I gotta agree with Sic Wid It though, these guys that are on top have and are working their asses off to get to the point they have reached.

I still would like to see Northern Cali get some of that shine, i wonder everyday why we don't really have anyone making big moves with all the talent we have and all the hustle these guys have. I mean if Jigga could come from where he came from and become the head of Def Jam, why can't someone from the bay do it?

Bullshit. Some people just like that shit so thats what they make. Yall throw that phrase "sellin out" around on here it sems like for damn near anything that you aint feelin if its actually sellin out or not. "Oh this punk ass nigga sellin out cause I dont like his musc." That shit is gay as fuck. I aint no tremendous fan of club music or no shit like that but callin somevbody a sell out cause they make club music is dumb as fuck. And on a side note, somebod please define "sell out" cause like i said, it seems like that just means anything that you dont like.
