For the great quality that you put out and the prices that you charge, youre robbing yourself. But Im guessing that its ALOT of people doing photography out there in Cali.
If people act broke and cheap as if they cant afford your services or simply act like they dont wanna pay for the quality that you put out...something is wrong on their end.

@mos, if you're assuming i lack the business sense/skills to be at that level, it's not as black and white as you think. I already know my prices are low in comparison to the quality i can deliver, as with many photographers especially in the bay area. You are right, in order to get more money you need to have bigger accounts - but not only that, you also need to have an industry standard in equipment or they wont look twice at you. no matter WHAT the quality. I actually went to sf state for business, advertising, marketing, etc... If i lacked the business sense i don't think the city of san francisco would have awarded me a $10,000 dollar grant based on my Photography Business Plan alone. It may not be much to some, but with this money I will be investing in proper equipment to start moving in the direction of bigger accounts. Most people think i have all this fancy shit, but in reality all im working with right now is the same Nikon D70 & my speedlight - Also, I don't have time to invest much in my business yet, as i work 50+ hours at the non-profit (case management, silk screening, teaching, etc...) I do shoots on the weekends if i have time, but other than that i don't have extra time to be networking, making books for agencies, test shoots, etc... Most agencies need you to be available during the week -

I also didn't start doing photography for the sake of making money - I did it because i love the art form, I love being able to help simple people who aren't known or who just want to have nice photos -

back to the subject at hand...if ur in LA and want a quality shoot - HIT ME UP - and yes...ur right mos...i am a fuckin hustler

I go through the same thing with my promotional company! I rob myself blind when I charge clients. I dont charge monthly and im still cheaper than most promoters, considering the connects I have. and a lot of people think its because I cant/wont deliver. But i see it as building connections and a clientele.

KEEP DOING YOUR THINK TRAJIK!!! U DEF GOT SOME OF THE BEST WORKI ON HERE!!!
