no i dont think so. white rappers have been around for yrs since the likes of vanilla ice and marky mark and the funky bunch or the beastie boys. eminem is not the first white mainstream rapper he is just probally the most selling. on the underground level there is too many white rappers to list. even in the bayarea and sac and LA area alone there is a SHITLOAD of white rappers. some that i can think off of the top of my head that were around before eminem are loki , smoov-e , woodie , that one girl from sac who was on that song 'locc to da brain'. and thats just the bayarea alone and those are just the people off the top of my head im sure if you look into it theres a ton more. white rappers were rapping. I just think eminem has been the most sucessful white rapper yet and because of his success people are noticing other white rappers more than they did before thats all.

I started freestylin' in elementary school...started writin when I was 13, that's 7 years...Eminem's name means shit to me. I think some white rappers have tried to make more noise since Eminem blew up, but a lot of us have been around for years tryin' to do our shit. Do any of y'all know how the Beastie Boys started? They were mocking rap music, making fun of it...they never expected to blow up doin' that shit but they did. So in my eyes, they aren't rappers, they are mock rappers.
Also, THE BOSS has a good point. There is a difference between an MC and an Artist. I could give 2 shits about freestylin', it's almost like showing your wit level, feel me? An MC can spit and spit and spit and spit for days...an Artist can put words together, and make the audience feel his every thought, make the audience cry, laugh, or get angry with him. Just like a painter expresses himself...people like paintings and feel the painting and know how the artist felt when he painted it.

i think you guys are making the mistake most people on this board make and thats that you beleive what you think is the truth. unfortunately thats not exactly whats really goin on. you cant say what anyone would of done and there has been white people rapping for a long time. the fact that eminem was the first to blow up is irelevant it just means more people will begin to give white people a chance. music is an expresion of yourself so color has nothing to do with it. just my feelings.
