I was just listening to the some songs from the Worst, man i really like that shit... i like the beats like "simon says" has, you know, that kinda rnb (?) style when you got a good rapper rapping on it. I just like the vibe on some of those songs.
FIRST QUESTION: so was there a live band that quincy jones put together to do the beats like these? cus it sounds like a real tight live band, or fuckin godly midi production or sampling. i know some of the beats were probably done by don juan (?) and QDIII (?)

if there's articles or interviews from this time, give me a link, it'd be interesting to read.

Also, i got questions about the time before Calm Before The Storm...

like could someone tell me about

-Be Warned

-Hellbound

-Big Bad Wolf

what projects were these recorded for and other shit...
i know big bad wolf was on that one single with J5 and shit...

i dont know, it just seems everytime you read something about Tech N9ne they give you the story, in detail, lol, post worst 2k.

Not to sure about the production question, but the albums that I assume had more of that style were titled "Be Warned" and "The Virus." Some of the songs from these albums are on "Celcius" if I'm not mistaken. Otherwise, I'd just wait to check out that DVD seems as if that might be what they are covering???

but, were there ALBUMS called "the virus" and "be warned" ? probably underground local releases then huh?

shit.. i hope tech and travis decide to rerelease all this shit... at least a compilation of it... cus some of these songs just deserve to be heard at least at 16bit 44.1K or higher... none of this mp3 bullshit and I dont feel like payin 50 bucks or more for CBTS or the Worst....

Not to sure on "The Virus" but I know for a fact that "Be Warned" was gonna be an official release because I have the poster for it. It was on Warner Bros/Quest which I'm sure you've heard him comment on before. But hell yeah that would be fuckin sick if they release all that unreleased material at good quality. I think they have all the rights to the songs now???

On the poster though, it has listed the songs:
-Psycho Bitch
-Strange
-Planet Rock
-Hellbound
-Breathe Again
-Trauma

man it'd be fuckin awesome if tech put an EP of old stuff like Be warned and Hellbound remastered on an extra disc with everready.

i mean instead of puttin a DVD on there

I think I'd rather see the old shit released some time after Everready, that way it doesn't taint the entire theme of the album. I don't know, I just don't think that when he's reachin the peak of his popularity that releasing old material with it is a great idea. Why not sell that shit after the rest of the world is hooked, and they will be if he has an appropriate single/feature. Maybe release that shit as a double disc, cuz I know they got that much material. :eek:

what do you mean?

it's not "real" good if that's what you mean

the bit depth is 16 bits

and the sample rate is 44000 times a second

meaning your CD player should play a "point on a graph representing the sound wave" every 1/44000 second. the "amplitude" of this point on the "graph" is determined by the values 16 bits can give you. (meaning that any wave represented will not be as "smooth" as in better analog mediums.)


the highest sound a Cd can properly play is half the sampling rate which is 22 kHz

back when Cd's were new, they didn't put this thing on called the "aliasing filter" (or anti-aliasing filter [?] ) which filters any sound above 22kHz. since they didnt' have that filter on, some higher frequencies resulted in a problem called "aliasing" that created ghost tones down low.
