Okay, yesterday I turned off my computer and later on in the afternoon tryed turning it back on when I get the infamous "blue screen" with an error code. I tryed for at least an hour to get that damn thing started back up and no such luck. The error code I got was c0000218 and from what I understand I'm getting this due to a corrupted registry but I can't seem to fix it. I tryed inserting the Windows XP startup disk to get to the recovery console but I'm not having any kind of luck.
Here's the error I keep receiving:
Stop: c0000218 {Registry File Failure} The registry cannot load the hive (file):
\SystemRoot\System32\Config\SOFTWARE or its log or alternate
Anyone got any suggestions?? I'm stumped :ermm:
