/\ co sign. photoshop is really graphic intensive and if you have a shitty PC and/or are trying to run loads of other apps whilst working in PS then you PC is gunna dig its heels in and get moody. Upgrade your RAM or by a mac! (recommended!)

You don't need 4gb of ram to run CS2 (although it's ideal to) unless you're fuckin making like a huge ass document. I've ran it decently on 512mb and run it smoothly now on a gig. Are you using the newer features? I'd try CS or 7 if your computer can't handle it man.

honestly, upgrade the ram, or upgrade to CS3. CS3 is a lot smoother, the program is built better than previous versions, and runs very smoothly on only 512mb, i have 1gb on my laptop, but i've run it on older pcs running only 512mb

it depends alot on your ram and processor, if your running an old computer than thats your main problem

yup, post your specs for your computer. get your processor and ram info from control panel>performance and maintance>system
(the window should look like this)

and then right click on your C drive and choose properties to view the amount of space you have left on your comp
(the window should look like this)

the amount of free space left on your computer determines how much you can do in photoshop. everything you do in photoshop takes up some kinda space on your computer, even though your not saving the file, its still taking up space because photoshop is keeping track of everything so that you can undo things and such.

*note, my computer is a laptop, so my harddrive is kinda low, but if you have a desktop, you should have a bigger harddive than that, i also have a 250gb external harddrive that photoshop uses for cache and everything else. :classic:
