SO WHAT? THIS IS THE OAKLAND RAIDERS, NOT THE NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS. OUR NEEDS AND SITUATON IS OBVIOUSLY VERY DIFFERENT. WE NEEDED TO LOCK HIM UP SO WE COUGHED UP THE COIN TO KEEP A PLAYER WHO IS VERY IMPORTANT TO OUR DEFENSE AT A MUCH NEEDED POSITION. THE MARKET DICTATES WHAT PLAYERS GET PAID. WHAT PART OF THIS DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND? DENVER MADE HIM A HUGE OFFER AND WE NEEDED TO PUT ANY COMPETITION TO BED.
what was denver's offer? and all i'm saying is kelly aint worth that much at all and u know it, if they were smart they woulda grabed 2 decent ones for the same price and woulda got more done. u cant just go dropping that much on a contrat for a player thats average,

As far as Javon Walker goes…a couple of days ago we had this:

”At least 10 teams have been in contact with the agent for the wide receiver who was released Friday by the Denver Broncos, including all four NFC East clubs, according to a source.”

”The Cowboys and Eagles have a couple connections working in their favor in pursuit of Walker. Dallas receivers coach Ray Sherman coached Walker in Green Bay. Walker is friends with Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb and the two have been training together in Arizona for several weeks.”

Michael Smith, espn.com

You have to pay up to compete with Jerry Jones and then there’s the Eagles who just missed signing Moss according to reports, it´s possible Walker was next on their list.

16 million guaranteed is a lot, but again…

Stallworth and Porter, who have never performed as a #1 WR and have never reached 1000 yds. in a season received 10 million guarateed, hell Andre Davis got 8 million guaranteed. Walker, when healthy is head and shoulders above any of them.

And you have to remember one thing, a liitle over one year ago, Darrent Williams died in this guy´s arms, that sort of stuff can mess a man up for a while.

As for his health, from the ”been training with McNabb for weeks” reports, sounds like he should be allright.

ummm ok..and the reason he got interest but no offers?????

HIS KNEE IS FUCKED UP SOMETHING BAD! Anyone can go out and to walk through against no defender and look fine......Just watch the last 4 Broncos games and he can see he is NOT ok! It has been said many many times he needs more knee work and even that may not save him.

I wonder if Oakland even checked his health or ran him through routes.

and what the fuck does dwill's deat have anything to do with it? he wasn't hurt running from the gun shot????? seriously wtf does that have anything to do with his knee being fucked up?

Denver hasn't made any a HUGE offer this off season. infact we have only brought a few in and made hardly any offers.

He may not be too explosive but in games against the Raiders he had good games. He's good when he has to be he aint gonna be no Randy Moss,Jerry Rice,Or Tim Brown but hes enough to help us compete and keep games interesting. Not Like Butterfingers Curry.

Why y'all gangin' up on my boy S1?

What's up with it? I tried to be cool and not talk bad about them cocaine sniffin Cowboys but since y'all keep getting on da homie and my squad it's on.... so go ahead and talk bad all you want. The Cowboys signed Tony Romo to a huge contract and what has he done besides choke when his team needs him most (had T.O. shedding tears for him)? He starts off the season real hot and then as the season goes on, his play always falls off. So keep it up!!

I know I didnt mean recently.I dont think the Raiders would make such a stupid mistake by signing someone who wont even help their offense out theyll take care of him like they did Newberry.Well see we cant try and get Chad Johnson if Cincy let him get out of his contract.Maybe the Raiders should of held off and got Walker for less Money.Desperate Times call for Desperate Measures.

the walker of old is no more!~!

you all paid for a player who in the past 4 years he has had atleast 3 knee surgeries....already known he needs more, and has missed most of 2 seasons in that time.

you don't want your #1 to have knee issues....and he not only has issues but MAJOR issues at that!

Its the same Walker who won the SuperBowl with GB?

also the same walker who favre himself didn't want back....the same walker who came here played good once to get contract and then got hurt and was mad because he lost #1 spot to marshall!

this is a guy who doesn't stay healthy, but doesn't keep his trap shut. He has alienated himself from 2 teams in 3 years.

have fun oakland!

We know he may have knee issues... a lot of people was saying Newberry was done too and look how that signing turned out.... Big risk equal big reward.

Actually Favre did want him back... Favre didn't support Walker when he held out for a bigger contract.

favre said he only wanted him back on gb's terms.....walker wanted his terms, and when walker left favre had nothing but bad things to say about him.

have fun oakland!

REMEMBER YOU HAD ALL KINDS OF BAD THINGS TO SAY THE LAST OFF SEASON WHEN WE SIGNED GERARD WAREN AND COOPER CARLISLE FROM THE BRONCOS. BOTH WERE A TOTAL SUCCESS HERE. SO I TAKE ANYTHING YOU SAY HERE IN REGARDS TO ANY BRONCO COMING TO OAKLAND WITH A GRAIN OF SALT. YES, YOU MIGHT BE RIGHT BUT YOU ALSO MAY BE WRONG, AND WE NEEDED TO ROLL THE DICE HERE AT A HUGE POSITION OF NEED.
