make more classics like "don't fight the feelin," "off parole," and "4tha hard way," I guess get back with Ragtop? But wasn't feelin bigga than tha game tho so iunno. Didn't pick up gangsta gumbo cuz I heard it sucked. 4tay was my fav. bay artist, my first cd I bought was don't fight the feelin, he still got flows, I picked up the friscostreetshow comp and he was makin music with his flow, I didn't even hear the beat. I love that shit.

I thought his tightest verse SINCE i can remember is off of D-Shot's "Money Sex and Thugs" and I believe the song was "Pimpin' on the Under Pt. 2"

I bought that album and loved it.

I also bought and paid for "Gansta Gumbo" from his manager who was slangin' em' on the B.A.R.T. Board. I think the flow is there but there's too many rappers buying BUNK beats

Take time, spend the money and get a good hard producer! DJ Quik, Ant Banks, all the big ones..... whatever money you got, spend it on production

Basically, 4-Tay never lost his lyrical ability or his smooth flowing voice--others here have the right idea: he needs better production. I think 4-Tay sounds best over tracks that are mellow-sounding but still "thick" in terms of mixture (i.e. OFF PAROLE, 4 THA HARD WAY). The tracks on GANGSTA GUMBO sounded too skeletal to me...he should continue with his mixture of street/positivity-themed vibes, though.

PEACE!

Why weren't people feelin Bigga than da Game? I like dat cd a lot. I like the beats and the lyrics and the feats were good. Can someone tell me why no one is feelin dat album?

Well, the beats and lyrics were basically okay to quite good ("All In Together Now" was a very nice collab with Black C). The problem I had with BIGGER THAN DA GAME was that the tempo of many of those songs sounded too much the same. For some reason, that CD seemed to "drag" in a way that 4-Tay's first three didn't. Just my opinion...

Glad you brought this up, though...maybe tonight I'll pull out my copy and try playing it again, and see how it sounds nowadays (you know how some CDs don't hit you until years after they come out).

PEACE!

last 4tay cd i was really diggin was intro to mackin, i can always listen to what 4tay has to say, especially when he puts down those positive tracks. id have to go with the general consensus about trying to get some beats that put the trunk on hump mode. otherwise 4tays a seasoned vet in my book.

pretty much what everyone said already, beats are the key. I think in general the bay has fallin off in regards to beats. They soundin too much like eastcoast/southern shit. I wanna hear that straight BAY/WESTCOAST SOUND.
