when I heard......What was the first rap/hip-hop song that you heard that made you say "this is the shit!" Me bein an old head, for me it would be "The Message" and "Planet Rock". I think they were both released in '82.

I was just watchin that video on youtube yesterday. Lmao! Cypress Hill makes me think of somethin crazy that happened. I was workin at the Social Services building as a facilities engineer (fuckin janitor). I took a big shit in the main bosses private bathroom and straight clogged that bitch up (I didn't know it. I flushed and raised up outta there quick). Just so happened I left my Cypress Hill cassette case on the sink. The big boss of the building went in his bathroom and stepped into hell. He knew one of the "night workers" did it so he asked my supervisor, "I found this tape case in there. Is he in some kind of cult?" Lol! I guess he saw the black skull and thought it was some devil music that made me fuck up his bathroom.

the first hip hop song i ever heard i was 3 years old and it was a mix with brass monkey in 92

we were on our way home from a camping trip and my oldest sister said that we have to listen to this new radio station bcause they play this crazy music

me and my other sisters were goin dumb in the car lol ill always remember that day

but when i actually fell in love with hip hop was when eazy e said "chased him up the street to call a truce the silly mother fucker pulled out a duece duece little did he know i had a loaded twleve gauge one sucker dead LA times front page"

Shit growing up i had been listening to rap since 90 or so. fresh prince "girls ain't nothing but trouble" and shit like that. But i was always hearing shit on tv and people telling me what to listen too. But I started getting really heavy into in 94/95 and picked up an issue of Rap Pages and Goodie Mob was on the cover. I read the article and was instantly trying to find their cd cause they were the first cats i could recognize as southern. The cd exceeded my expectations. Discovering a group on my own made me hungrier to hear more and more and it became my obsession. And living in the south you didn't get as much hip hop exposure. I still got that issue of rap pages too. That same issue pyut me on to WC and the Madd Circle "Curb Servin" they didn't an interview with him at Roscoe's
