Lets be real the Hyphy Movement DID start at Rick Rocks house...

Were not talking about the invention of the word or the culture...Prior to the FEDS and Rick, hyphy had no sound...It was like a movie without a soundtrack.

Ask 40 himself, He will tell you that the movement started there...

Before the FEDS no1 was doing hyphy musically...period!! NOT even Keak!
And for some of yall to say that youre upset that Stres said that, youve gotta be crazy!

Be realistic...put aside, for a second, the fact that the FEDS are not from the town. Can you honestly say that they did not jump start the movement? Can you honestly say that before them, there was someone else doing hyphy musically? The problem is that people are so damn quick to judge them, without even analizing what they are saying. No 1 is taking credit away from Keak for "inventing" the word, so why do so many people take credit away from the FEDS? Respect what they have done for the movement...

The cat who said earlier "that Hyphy BEEN here, the Feds just made a soundtrack for it"-described it perfectly.

However-to be HONEST the song HYPHY that the Feds did, wasnt even cool 2 me UNTIL the Remix-came out with everybody on it.

Has anyone ever sat down with Stres and asked him what he ment?
Or even took into consideration that he wasnt taking credit for the culture but for giving the culture music to "get" hyphy to?

what i'm trying to say is if u have something bad to say about someone or something..ur better off keeping it to yourself..u ever heard of that old saying.. if you have nothing good to say dont say anything at all? and the reason why i said i expect more from you because i thought u made music. well apparantly not then. I dunno maybe it's me that got this shit all twisted.. fuck it.. lets just make it cool now a days talk down on the shit we got going in the bay..yea?

can u honestly sit back and say that the music that gets put out here in the bay is great/good overall songs/albums?

no.

but that goes for every cities music scene in america.

the bay area is not some magical spot in the US that is incapable of making subpar/horrible music.

but that should be obvious, right?

...i think.
maybe less obvious to locals, but ya gotta chalk that up with hometown pride and biasness.

we know everyone (not 1 specific person) adopted hyphy music and it keeps getting bigger and bigger

everyone has a role in the movement
keep the game in action

yea but im speakin on the mass production of the hyphy movement sound, it seems like everybody is hop-ing on the bandwagon, and it has an impact on us,hella mediocre shit is being accepted, while meanwhile it makes other artist who are not on that same hype even harder to compete.thats all im sayin, do u need me to elaborate even more?

you realize that this happens with every new "movement", right?
take screwed and chopped and houston for instance.

if theres money out there people are gonna go get it.

basically, make better music and youll shine on your own. just because hyphy is a movement dosent mean everyone feels that movement, or even listens to it. you shouldnt and dont have to compete with anyone to do your own thing.

get on your grind in the same way as some of these mediocre hyphy artists and youll reap the same benifits.

theres a old saying..you dont work you dont eat.

theres a business side to music. if you all music and no business then of course, no ones gonna hear you.

you dont see hieroglyphics complaining about the hyphy movement, tho.

you can see this sort of semi-envy in alot of senses. underground cats forever hate on mainstream music.

also, how come you cant make your own hyphy music? if the hyphy music out there is so unappealing and mediocre, why cant you change the game and make better hyphy music?

the soundscape for 'hyphy' is pretty broad. and its a new thing.
what if you were to sit down and brainstorm and come up with a completely new sound of hyphy? and what if all the sudden you became rich off of doing something you invented?

should MC caclulus hate on you because youre getting noticed and he isnt? nah, cuz you did that shit from your heart and you crafted it and no one should be able to hate on it.

i see what your saying, it seems more gimmick and less style...but that may be all perception. as long as someone likes the shit, why does it matter?

if they liked you, theyd listen to you instead, right?
that is, if you had your business up to the point where someone could notice you beyond siccness and say 'hey...his musics better...imma fuck with this'
