I think mac dre started a lot of this movement, but as far as his music goes, it wasn't hella energy in it like the feds. When I think of what is hyphy music, the first group that comes to mind is the feds. Not b/c they got the song hyphy, but b/c hyphy has been defined as partying hard, wildin out, bein crazy, dumb, stupid...HYPE, and their music on their first album is definitely the most hype. When that first album came out, nothing else in the bay or anywhere else sounded like that IMO. Its like when tell me when to go would come on before it blew up, it really wasn't a song to get you hella pumped up to act crazy, go stupid, whatever you wanna call it. But ppl do it now in the clubs cause its "suppose" to be the song to represent that. Whatever ya'll wanna say, but there wasn't really any hyphy music like their's before that album came out...oh and they were the first ones to get mtv or msnbc news whoever that article in 2004 was by, to come out and do an article on goin dumb and hyphy and all that shit. So, in a way, they did help bring the attention to get the hyphy movement started.
