good question... I admit, I was talking shit... but what I was trying to say was that shit bugs me that I'm questioned on shit by a cat who happens to be a young white dude... especially when it comes to matters of race/rap/urban society etc. etc etc... especially because shit was alot different in the 80's (it was rough, and there was no rainbow coalition).....
I could be more specific, but I've said too much as it is....
every man (young or old) is there own person, so each one should be judged accordingly.... so if i don't know a dude personally, who am i to judge...

It's a damn shame yall mfs want to ghetto-ize fillmoe and hunter point. Even though I dont live there anymore, but did once, I never supported the violence that went on there. I knew some kats in the fillmoe who had great opportunities for education, but blew it. That area had great opportunities for kids to advance. More than alot of places in this country, let alone San Francisco. Knew some elders who damn near put their lives on the line for the advancement of children in the hayes valley fillmoe, whatever area. Still, some kids got suck into the street life, resutling - dead, on drugs, jail, or still on the corner broke.
youngmoe is right. i lived in frisco for a while and my cousin recently sold a 800,000 spot in fillmore. the shit has BEEN gentrified. i cant speak on before 1998, but it was gentified even then. maybe its because im black, not a rich person and i fitted in, but it wasnt that crazy. i remembered trying to move there and studios were 1200-1600, had to move to outer richmond in the russian community to find a cheap spot.
hunters point is a little different, or atleast it was when i was there, due to the industrial areas. bieng there at night was far more crazy.
Ive never had a problem in fillmore. and ive walked through that bitch drunk as hell, many a night. not just on the main streets, all throughout that bitch. ive had/seen more shit pop off in tenderloin, by far.
when you get closer to fillmore by way of market it actually gets better

Fillmoe is right next to City Hall and Downtown its a ghetto in the city. I lived in the western add back when there wasnt barely any white people but if you was known you was cool. Then in the day I started seein more whitez but once it got dark nope they were no where to be found. Now fillmore street is hella nice and the city tryin to make the fillmoe get ghost Hella white people drinkin coffee and shit walkin around lalala. Its fucked up cause there a lot of good ass people here and a Gang of history these street have seen. Why try to change something that works. I guess cause its so close to downtown what they need to do is stop spendin money on tryin to kick people out and start spendin it on helpin people out. Next time you drunk takin a walk in the Moe say something to someone and see if you still make it out untouched.

I don't want to go to far into comparing situations of one race to another, because we are all minorities and face challenges that are alike. I will say that the black experience is different from all others, not harder or easier, just different. Just trip, we don't have a country to be deported to, or go back to if we don't make it here. fillmore is the only CITY hood in SF, the others are tucked into corners of the city..Fillmore is right in the heart of it
so it was always a more diverse area then anywehre else in San Francisco

I wouldn't be mad at the rich people buying shit up cuz as much as people don't want to admit it its for the best. In 15 to 20 years HP won't be a warzone anymore and the people who own shit out there won't have to worry about their kids getting killed every day. They are gonna let the really bad parts of HP get so ran down that they will condemn the projects out there and tear em down and make condos and shit. Yeah its gentrafacation but that just how the shit goes, people with money control the world and they don't care about poor people. I'm sure most people who live in the point that avtually owned their house went and sold it years ago for their own safety. Most of HP is probably owned by investors anyways who are just buying their time before the Navy clean up that radioactive dump of a shipyeard so they can start turning it into yuppy heaven fully equiped with TCBYs, Jamba Juices, Ikea and all that shit.
I'm not from SF but I'm seeing what they did and are still doing to East Palo Alto. The people ran that city to the ground. now if a cat was in the joint for a couple years and came back they wouldn't recognize most of EPA anymore especially over the ramp. Its all big buildings, hotels and shit now.
