HP or Compaq restoration disc?

anyone know where I can get my hands on one (I know from the site but the pc is no longer under warranty and I don't wanna pay), my sons mom was trying to re-install windows with a dell recovery disc and she don't have dell so basically it wiped out her windows and won't re-install windows unless it has the proper disc (hp or compaq I cant remember off hand). Any one?

if u dont wanna pay for anything your pretty much outta luck. only other option is get a windows xp disc and install clean

I had a windows xp disc and left it in my friends pc and never got it back....I tried downloading some off of torrents and couldnt get a working key

The dell disc (has to be the windows one and not the drivers) should do the trick I have used them before and they are just windows disks. If that doesn't work download a windows disc online and just use that with the code on the computer. You will need to find whatever drivers are needed once windows is installed but that shouldn't be much of a problem.
