cats that are unknown with hot shit should charge between 75-150 a beat.... for cats who are worth sellin tight beats to. then again money is money for producers but the only way to truly get a name is get on some legit artists album production credits, same as a rapper featurin on someone actually dope's cd. personally myself im willing to pay whatever is WITHIN my means if yall follow me on that, but same time i respect the business. all i know is i aint cuttin no corners on production on any of my legitimate releases, i tried that on my first solo and regret it now. my new shit has some solid solid shit. and to those on the rise, dont get a big head.

people with some credibility, should charge double the above mentioned and more. make no mistake about it, the production will be the extra push to make your album the shit (assuming your a good artist with some decent shit to talk about) or make you another cd on the shelf

Most of the radio hits and fools sellin millions of albums ain't got no flows.

I feel that 2 an extent...it could work tha other way around tho...especially in da underground...

I WISH EVERY PRODUCER THOUGHT LIKE THIS, OR AT LEAST ONES THAT ACTUALLY REALIZE YOU HAVE TALENT AND BACK YOU 100%...
I feel this statement also, dats exactly what I do, I don't really try 2 reach out too much rite now, I back my family 100% wit everything...I can honestly say me and my production "team" got some hot unique shit...but we chose a different route entering tha game...It's all on wat state of mind a producer is in and what he feels his plan & more importantly his priorities are...

anyway, yea 50-150...anything more than 150 for a beginner is a real profit...

depends on what your tryin to do, go major? then you gotta break bread or have a good in house producer with your own sound, be real with it it takes money to make money, you need a good laywer a good manager and a good produced and recorded album it takes alot of money and effort to make it happen yeah you can cut a few corners but the bottom line is its gonna take a year or so to get it going, i se mesy marv steppin it up big time with his production, thats about the only one breakin real bread for beats that i see
