I have rented many places in my past. And I am glad I live in the mid-west.

My first Apt. was nice. It was a 1 bedroom/1 bath furnished with fridge. I paid $325.00 a month. Hell, I lived there almost 3 years.

After that I rented a townhouse Apt. 2 Bedroom/2 Bath furnished with fridge. I paid $600.00 a month.

Then I rented a Duplex. 3 Levels, It had 2 car Garage, 4 Bedrooms, Finished Basement, 3 Baths. Furnished with Fridge. I only paid $825.00 a month.

I finally bought a house last year.

My mortgage for my house here in Vancouver, WA is approx. $780 a month. It is a 3 bedroom and 2 bathroom house with a garage and normal size yard. It's only 8 years old and I'm the original owner. I originally was only paying $640 a month until I refinanced to a 15 year fixed while back. It's in a real nice neighborhood, an excellent place to raise my two sons. I couldn't ask for more...

If anyone is looking for a brand new house, they are still building them all over the outskirts of Vancouver (mostly in Orchards, Battleground, Fisher'sLanding, Camas, Hockinson, etc.) Right now is the time to buy, because you can have a brand new house built starting at approx. $200,000 and up depending on the size of house you want. You have to be able to live with the rain 8 months out of the year though, lol...
