I use T-mobile prepaid. They charge when you receive texts now, since this the end of this past summer. On average I pay $20 a month. It's usually $5 more or less than that, so anywhere from $15-$35 a month. That means anywhere from 150-350 minutes a month. I got a landline though.

prepaid tmobile is cheaper if you don't spend much time on the phone. You could have 500 min, but that includes texts. Some people really love to take advantage of their unlimited text and ignore that you don't have it.

I just checked my bill online today and it is $76 and the billing cycle isn't over. I did 141 text messages. That's the second highest bill I ever had. I said fuck that and added the 400 text messages to my plan for an additional $4.99.

T-Mobile rate:

$0.15 per text

$.40 for every minute over your plan

pay 58 including taxes and insurance. 300 minutes, unlimited internet, unlimited texting, unlimited nights and weekends, free long distance. I came up on this deal about 3 years ago when the sidekick 2 came out. And since then i got to keep it.

$45 a month with Verizon. I got the cheapest plan since I am not a big talker or text messenger. I get 100 free text messeges a month though. I'm cool with it.

I dont pay monthly.

looks like text charges are goin up again: http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/addons/services/MessagingDisclaimer.aspx

ThaG, I didn't know there was a $25 monthly plan. The cheapest I see on the website is $30.

Whoever said females like to text. That's very true. That's what I was saying, people love to show off their unlimited texting (usually actually they're going over), and that's fine until they start charging you to receive texts too. Honestly I rather have a higher charge on sending texts, but they rather do both cuz you can't completely control how many you receive.
