YOU can mic an amp... might want to use something like a sm57.. straight to the grill, try and find a sweet spot around the speaker, that gives you the best sound you looking for.. you can also add other mics, further away couple inches to get more of that ambience you like... YES, you can also plug directly in using a preamp/di and there are TONS of guitar plugin effects that Model certain amps & effects.. Theres even one, that can give you all the sounds of jimi hendrix.. the 2nd way does seem the easist these days.. really depends on the sound you want tho. plus you need to get those plugins, and use them effectively.. but like ALL recordings.. its only as good as the initial imput!. player/singer. guitar tone/amp/voice .. Theres tons of INFO on micing amps on the net. do a quick search.. there is TONS of info on the net. yu just got to search through it and apply it .. experiment with the methods ..practice makes perfect.

As for beats.. I sell beats from 100-500. mostly around the 100/200 for the COOL beats.. if they want that HEAT.. we got to set something up. I dont have my DOPE isht online.. and they cost 300 and up!!.. MOST artists these days trying to get FREE beats all the time.. I aint no one all big tho so Im always willing to negotiate, if they dope.. theres other ways to get paid besides money.

^^That's what I was talking about. Thank you. When I'm recording guitars, it's usually in the style of say, Metallica. Real heavy loud and fuckin crunchy. It needs HUGENESS, so I like micing around the room and capturing the sound. Indo is very talented and I take what he says seriously, but I apply it to more of the digital hip hop type stuff. He's a very good producer, and I've seen him work first hand. But he and I are talking two different types of recording for the guitars....But the bottom line on both ends is still initial input is more important then the effects thrown on afterwards. Similar to putting on cologne instead of showering.. haha

Good to see Indo and others spittin game for the up and comers in this thread.

Basically charge what you think you can get and what you deserve. There might be some dudes you dont mind hookin beats to for free or real cheap, while others you charge a little more. I know for me personally years back id charge anywhere from $100-$500 a beat, depending on who the person was. For example my dude Imhotep from Chicago, peplove from Hiero and Bounty Killer, they all dudes i look up to and respect a great deal, so anything i did with them it was for free in the past (It helped us both). While other more underground dudes, i use to charge at least 100$, but if its a super slappin beat ive gotten 500$ before in the past.

My advice is to not over charge though, like the dude Indo he puttin in work like crazy and his beats are very high quality, but he isnt charging 1000$ a beat and what not. His prices are very affordable for the quality you are getting. Dont charge to little, but at the same time make sure not to over charge dudes.

Just my two cents on the topic. For new producers that are up and coming, look at Indo as a good example, he doesnt need to spend a shitload of money or the crazyiest equipment, but the quality in his beats are top notch. He also could charge ALOT more if he wanted to be stingy.
