There's good money in that. My pops did that while I was growing up and used my brother and I as labor...if you stay organized and work hard, you could live off of that money easily.

For everyone interested in gettin paid to "test" video games, peep out Hotjobs.com.
Electronic Arts and a few others are always looking for testers. Granted all opennings are temporary but it's a start. You never know, they just might hire you full time if they like you.

Man I almost went to work for my personal favorite, Sega.
But they moved to downtown Frisco, I was like fuck that!
I hate them bike messenger/delivery boys!

they are always looking for machine techs dogg, but if you are wanting to commute from palo alto it would not be worth it, but theres a newer casino more your wait called river rock, it pays a lot better, it might be worth the travel time.

I had to laugh when I saw the title of this thread...

Fortunately, Sean is able to do what he loves and make a living at it as well. Music...Producing... So he doesn't have a "real" job or a 9 to 5. I'm just being a little sarcastic because I remember saying to him "you don't have a real job like me." But now neither do I...I work with him full time for Get Gone Records so I can appreciate that for him (and me) it is 100% a real job!

angie....is that ur man? i think i only know 2 rap cats from outta here that dont gotta work to really live off this music shit. yeah when i started wth dre it was a part time gig until it started getting nutts and had to quit the regular shit and be with it full time. did that for a minute and it was a success. i actually have parted ways now to expand my horizons! i will never go back to working sum regular shit cuz i realized it aint me anymore. i say to all u people with some dreams in this industry and no kids, fuck the dumb shit and do what u love cuz hard work pays off and you'll get urs by having the oppurtunity to do what you love as long as you do it right.

Yep, I'm Sean's wife (I just assume people know this for some reason) and he's been lucky enough to work on music only for years now without having to work to regular 9 to 5...but it's still hard work and long hours for him...I just try to support him cuz he's doing what he loves...and I agree, if you stay true it, the hard work will pay off!

I've come to realize that working for someone else blows balls. I used to think that work would be fun if you worked for a good company, but getting up hella early everyday and dragging your ass halfway across the city is really shitty. It would be great to get paid doing something you love, or being your own boss, but until then I got a mortgage to pay. By the way, I work as tier 2 tech support for a Satellite TV company, and im not an artist or nothing, just though Id add my $.02...
