Before reading my post, let me tell you im not biased because im not a fan of the cowboys, and i dont hate the cowboys, they are just another team to me...and this is my opinion from what i have seen going around the league....
this team WILL be torn up this year. just like the niners, just like the eagles. heres why
Bill Parcells has got in way too deep here, hes over his head in a pool of shit. First of all, Bill is a fairly calm coach for the most part. i've seen him lose his temper a few times and its not pretty. He is also a perfectionist, and when things arent going well, its gonna be a long practice week for the 'boys. Now with that said, Bill doesnt have the patience to deal with all the media pressure for 16 weeks. With the missed FG's, with Terrell Owens not showing up to practice and bitching and moaning about being injured, with Quarterback controversy (i will elaborate on these below)...he's already dealt with 16 weeks of media in just the pre-season alone! I can see this team dissolving under pressure.....
..The lack of kickers (Van Der Jagt blows the big one, dude missed 2 FGs under 36 yds in minnesota, and the backup hit the upright from about 35) and now hes injured. how much did they spend on this guy again? he didnt even make the trip to Jacksonville for the game. He's useless! He missed a FG last year in Indy which might have won the Colts a ticket to the SuperBowl (but im a steeler fan and even if they made that FG, the steelers still would've won that game) Why even bother with this guy? Dallas' back-up kicker isnt any better...
Terrell Owens will tear this team up. To anybody who watched the game yesterday, you ALL saw how Concrete Legs Bledsoe wasnt getting the ball out to him. He started well with 2 completions, but COME ON! I'm not hating on T.O.'s ability here, because i happen to believe he is one of the top receivers in the game in the RAC (run after catch) department. FATAL NYGHTMARE is absolutely correct when he said that TO is a playmaker....its not a question of WILL Terrell Owens break up this team, its a question of WHEN will Terrell Owens get fed up with the situation, and go to Bill Parcells and get in a huge arguement which brings me to my next point..
...The motherfucking media. When Terrell Owens is fed up with the situation, the whole country will know because he will probably be at the 50 yard line of Lincoln Financial Field in week 5 (if not earlier because i could see this happening in week 2 against the Redskins) crying and stamping his feet like a little baby because Bledsoe aint gettin the football to him. And let me tell you, the media will be ALL OVER this situation. Terrell Owens will shoot his mouth off blah blah blah blah and Parcells is gonna can his ass. Then what T.O.? (if T.O. lasts til they face Carolina, that will be a great game..which i would definitely like to see)...
....Quarterback conspiracy. Ever since the pre-season all i have heard is how great this Romo guy is. Now, I've only had a chance to watch some highlights, and the end of the game against Minnesota. Judging by how many people (sportscasters, bloggers, websites, and people on siccness.net) are glorifying him, I'm going to assume he is capable of being a starting QB over Drew Bledsoe. I did notice how he is mobile, and when he gets tied up in the pocket, he still tries to make a play which is great because the NFL is based around great play-makers. After all, that's what earns you a starting position....
This is a great team that is chocked full of talent, but I just can't see them being able to stay together and play like a real team through all of the controversy listed above. The 'Boys are too shaky, there's too many doubts, and there's too many obstacles to overcome. I just can't see them coming close to Miami this year. Great teams win superbowls, and great teams require that everybody plays for each other. From what i have read and seen, this team will be the either the success story OR the dissappointment of the year, and with great looking teams like Pittsburgh, Jacksonville, the NY Giants, Carolina Panthers, and on and on, i just can't see them being a success story......thoughts please...
