in my time ive heard rappers (typically unknown), who claim themselves to be freestyle rappers, they usually say the same thing over again and they usually suck and u can tell they freestyled it. im talkin about the cats who actually record their freestyles on the track rather than writing a verse for it. Anyone know what im talkin about>?

I've heard a few of those myself, but I've also heard some freestyles that sound tight (as if they were written). They pick out stuff in the room / surrounding area and start freestyling.

Some of the tightest freestyle people I know come hella hard with them freestyles, but they couldn't sit & write a 16.

JT the Bigga Figga records freestyles. I think his freestyles are pretty damn good. But his written raps are better.

^^^that would be pointless and boring. 2 complete different angles of rhyming..
Either one could step up to the occasion and go with any angle they want.

Edit: if anyone says andre nickatina can freestyle you should be shot where you stand....

im not really in to freestyle. its a talent to have and i tip my hat to anyone who can do it well(discludin all this phony premeditated shit like i see on smack dvd). but its inferior rap by definition, your making music without thought. me myself, im into meaningful lyrics that atleast sound like they come from the heart.

I wouldnt say Biggies freestyled his songs, maybe some but that shits way too lyrical to freestyle. Ive heard him freestyle and hes muthafuckin dope, but his written shit was golden.
