I got a new laptop. Not from best buy or anything. I bought it used.

It is a sony vaio and I installed windows fresh and no sound works. Some shit about no active mixer. When I go to the sound in the control panel it says no audio device. And any system sound just beeps. When I boot up system makes a nice clean sound when displaying the sony logo. Not when windows starts though.

I am ok with computer, pretty new to laptops though. I downloaded and installed sony shared dl library as well as the realtek audio driver and nothing. Can I open the bottom up and see if there is a sound card or what?

I really am not believing sony sells laptops that dont make sounds.

any help is greatly apreciated.

I posted this outside the computer forum cause I am desperate and have helped many people on here before.

Thanks.

It would definatley have a sound card if it isn't too old. If there are audio outputs such as a headphone jack, then there is a sound card. What OS is running on your laptop btw?
