How Do I Play an avi. file?

if you can't play an avi file in windows media player, then its prolly encoded in some wierd format.

OR it can be a non compeleted divx file, if thats the case, i have no idea how to open it, maybe in some video editing software, just download the whole file again.

www.videolan.org, is the only player you will ever need. no need for codecs.
