the most u can hear a song is 80spins a week, even though it may seem more its only 80, if played every other hour like the MD(music director) schedules it. there are instances where u will her the song in back to back hours but that is due to MIXSHOW...and that doesnt count as rotation spins. and u have to remember that those songs are played out to YOU, not to lil maria in san jose....who is the radios(KYLD) target audience.(KMEL is Frisco females 18-34) and u were saying that u spend alot of ur time in the car...well the average person doesnt. radio is calculated and formulated by average TSL or average time spent listening. on average its only about 10-15 mins in the car on the way to n from ur destination. thats the model that the radio programmers schedule there music

and also about hearing the track so much on a day, u may be flipping the frequency from kmel to wild so u are hearing the songs double time, is u listend from 5am to about 5pm then the possibility of hearing a song 8 times on 1station is highly possible. especially if its a hit. there are POWERS, SUB-POWERS, HOTS, NEW MUSIC & RECURRENTS. they are all divided up within every hour.

they tell u that so u keep listening and so that dont turn a listener away feeling like they were turned down or came up short. they dont wanna come off wrong or lose listeners becasue unlike tv, radio rating are detected by random listeners that fill out arbitron diaries. so the have to keep it cool for the sake of getting good votes
The radio stopped giving a fuck about the listener once clear channel took over. Dont get it twisted. They dont give a fuck about your request. Unless you request one of the songs already on their pre regulated national playlist that they play 100 times per week across the country on every top 40 radio station. Fuck the radio!!
