i used a S-VGA video cable for the image, and another cable for the audio. I forget what the audio cable is called. I just went to best buy with my laptop and asked how i could hook it up to my tv, and they gave me the cables i needed.

when you get the cables, you have to make sure the cables are connected before you turn on the laptop, otherwise it won't work. then. just right click and go to personalization > display settings. there you can set the screens however you want.

Your laptop should have an S-video connector on it that you can hook a converter too and it will connect to regular rca cables. I got one with my video card and it works fine but if you are looking for a really good picture it won't look that great since the resolution on a standard def tv is shitty. If you have DVI or HDMI on your tv you should be able to find a cord that will go from VGA to either one of those. For the audio you just need a y adapter like this:

You should check out that site though they have really cheap cables so they might have the ones you need for the video too.

all you need is a VGA to RCA cable.. one side plugs into the back of your laptop.. the other 3 plug into the back of your tv.. its gonna be actually a component and not composite signal meaning its higher quality than your typical yellow, red and white.. Component = RGB .. red, green, and blue cable.

its gonna look something like this..

if you dont have that on the back of your LCD tv then just get a regular RCa which just is yellow red and white. Component is as close to Hi-Def as you will get tho.
