It's not working because VGA cords do not come out of hard drives.

say what? the cord i have now thats running from the back of my harddrive thats connected to my computer screen isnt a vga cord?
its called a computer bro, or graphics card if you want to get technical.

The reason its not working when you plug it in to your tv(when your not in safe mode) is because its not able to handle the resolution your computers set to.

So right click on a blank spot on your desktop, pick the settings tab, and on the section "screen resolution", move that slider down 1 time and click apply, if it still doesnt work move the slider down again/click apply, and repeat till its working

i tryed all the way to the lowest resolution still aint working, fuck it..

hmmm, have you tryed starting with the computer off/hooking up to tv/turning on? do you see the boot up on the tv, then once windows starts it goes back to the invalid signal? then it could be a wrong refresh rate problem if its not the resolution.... besides that I don't know what it could be off top.
