Vallejo police believe Christy Adoshjuaniq is not in immediate danger

Vallejo police are searching for a 12-year-old girl who was allegedly snatched by her biological mother Wednesday morning.
Christy Adoshjuaniq had been walking home from school at about 10 a.m. on Whitney Street when she was picked up by her mother, police said.
Christy called her aunt, who she was staying with while in custody of the court, and told her that she was scared and didn't know where she was, police said.
The California Highway Patrol issued an Amber Alert for the suspect vehicle, a burgundy Chevrolet Venture with a license plate of 6JAD016, police said.
Police believe Christy is not in immediate danger, but should be returned to her rightful custodian, police said.
Anyone with information about the case can call detectives at (800) 488-9383 and reference case No. 1000190. Anonymous tips can be left at (707) 644-STOP.
