J Dilla (anything he produced. Ex: The Light- Common)

and there's that one De La Soul track that goes "if money makes a man strange (we gots to re-arange that) then what makes the world go 'round?"

... but I suggest Donuts as far as solo goes.

Sublime (everything)

Potluck (most recent album, can't recall the name)

Eminem (INFINITE and Slim Shady EP) pre-Dre...

... or you can just start listening to the Rolling Stones. Or Maybe a lil of the Temptations? Motown baby.

Yeah I'm getting tired of listining to gangster music all the time. I want to get into more hip hop shit . Any suggestions, I heard some Living Legends stuff and it was pretty cool. I hear alot of people talking about Zion 1 and was thinking of picking up that Hereos in tre City of Dope Cd. I wanna listen to something a little more positive for a change
Haha, a sign of maturity. I'm starting to listen to more male singers from the current times to the past times like Marvin Gaye etc instead of rap. I'll still bump that mobb shit though haha.

I wanna know where i can get myself some living legends/ mystic journeymen stuff. I like bay area hip hop but its kinda hard to find.
if you've been looking for bay music with that real hip-hop sound, you should check me out. i put together a FREE mixtape recently, trying to get my style of music out there.

i was also lucky enough to get a couple frisco hip-hop veterans on there too. there are songs from Bored Stiff, Shag Nasty, Baldhead Rick and Hugh EMC and I got a couple younger cats on there too like Akil and my own folks. plus my DJ patna Chill Will helped me mix everything so the mixtape is full of dope ass scratching

DONT SLEEP, IM REALLY TRYING TO GET THAT REAL HIP-HOP OUT THERE... if you could download my mixtape and let me know how it strikes you i would appreciate it... all tracks available at WWW.GASMASKCOLONY.COM

One Love!

Equipto (if you cant find any Bored Stiff just grab anything in his vintage series)
Conceit - Wasted Talent (he is a dope freestyler and his new mixtape is raw frisco shit)
Top.R (this is one of the most slept on emcees period, not just in the bay. anything you can get from him should be pretty fuckin good)
Gas Mask Colony (my own Frisco familia we just put out our first EP and are tryin to really put it down for Frisco)

and of course anything from Hieroglyphics, Zion I and Living Legends slaps too. hope this helped
