well they arent on MY top 25 of all time, but i see the same shit pop up all the time on OTHER people's lists, so I was just saying they seem to be the accepted choices of "music critic" people or magazine people or east coast people or i dont know what the fuck. but they arent on my top 25 for sure. I think my entire top 25 wouldnt leave california at all.
what do "music critics", magazine people and average east coast people know about rap???

these are the same muthafuckas that support the bullshit that's flooding the market, how do you expect them to tell you what's really good and what's trash??

San Quinn has brought REAl SHit for over 10 years........some in-depth and socially conscious music......I love all those albums you speak of, but hip-hop and pure rap is not the same thing as you seem to have equated the 2 as being synonymous....Common, Black Star, The Roots, and Nas are unique in their style and I would beckon to say that they are "Hip-HOP" artists in the traditional sense........yet, the hyphy movement and bay area style and lingo is more than just some Cash Money or No Limit BS.............its about a region with a truly unique rap culture that stems from mainly grimy, inner city areas in which the music tends to have a FEEL to it......there is a time for profound and in-depth Hip-Hop like the Roots or Talib Kweli's Quality, but there is also a time for Mac Dre, San Quinn, E-40, and other extremely talented artists who bring something Unique and distinguishable to the table.......content difference, microphone presence, lyrics, passion, FEEL, concepts, and much more separate Rap and Hip-Hop.........I can say that Mac Dre- Young Black Brother; San Quinn- Live N Direct, The Hustle Continues, Explosive Mode, I Give You My Word; E-40- Federal are all some of my favorite album of all-time.....as well as Nas-Illmatic, Stillmatic; The Roots- illadelph; Black STar; Common-Like Water For Chocolate...........but they definitely belong in separate categories........suffice to say that the Bay Area has some great artists that bring extremely witty, Real/Grimey, humorous, and at times profound lyrical content that doesn't take a back seat to anyone, and truly deserves its own category! If nothing else, most Great Bay Area rappers are Sincere and have second 2 none personalities on the microphone!.......just my 2 cents at this early morning hour

Calling Hyphy a movement degrades all actual movements that have taken place up to this point. .
If hyphy cant be a "movement", then hip hop can't have a "revolution." That downgrades actual revolutions that have taken place. You're probably too young to know that though.

well...they think they know everything. which is why they are the only ones who seem so impressed with themselves that they got to make top 25 lists. which i think is gay. but hey, they know what they like. which is all these top 25 or top 50 or top whatever lists end up being anyways. you cant tell people what they should like. they just like what they like. i have seen a bunch of people's lists on forums (not here) and its always Nas and Jay Z and Talib Kweli and gay shit like that. so clearly a LOT of people have that as their favorite albums. so i was just verifying that if that was his choice, apparently millions of people do feel the same way. this thread was not for me to make my top 25 list, which i already said, would be way different. if you want, i could print out my top 25 list but that would probably take awhile, i do not think anyone really cares, and i really honestly dont know i have never thought about it past 10 or 15.

TO ME THE DEFINITION OF "CLASSIC" IS SOMETHIN LIKE

C-BO - TILL MY CASKET DROPS
2 PAC - ALL EYEZ ON ME
3X KRAZY - STACKIN CHIPS
E-40 - IN A MAJOR WAY

YOU KNOW THEM ALBUMS WHERE U DONT EVEN SKIP A SONG. AND THEN THEY STILL SOUND AS GOOD AS THEY DID 10 YEARS AGO.
