the problem with claiming the "25 best albums" of all time already is that the hip hop that we all aknowledge and talk about has only been around for say 18-20 years...some kids arent even that old and are listening to teh shit now and think its dope!! and in that time, hip hop has changes so much and become disposable that its all fashion, even the music...fashion changes and now rap music does too...none of it means shit anymore, its not time less...so what u have is a bunch of people who grew up listening to nwa in 1988, or public enemy in 1992 or tupac in 1996 and wanting that now...its like growing up the beatles or led zeppelin and wanting that now.

Outkast - Aquemini (1998) - it has a few tight tracks but more than half overall aren't that great; it is not in my classics list

Black Star - Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star (1998) - good album but far from being an all-time top 25

Jay Z - The Blue Print (2001) - sucks

Nas - Stillmatic (2001) - 4 or 5 good tracks, not a classic at all

Gang Starr - Moment of truth (1998) - good album, but again not exactly a classic

Big L - The Big Picture (2000) - sucks

Mos Def - Black on both sides (1999) - nothing special

Scarface - The Fix (2002) - sucks

Canibus - Rip The Jacker (2003) - good but not a classic

The Coup Steal this album (1998) - nothing special

Dead Prez - Lets get free (2000) - good lyrics, but the music sucks

Lauryn Hill - The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill (1998) - you think this is rap??
Basically exaclty what I was going to say. thanx for savin me the time. Not one of those is a classic, but Aquemeni comes the closest...

i agree about some of his points...

if he listened to E-40's single, he should at least acknowledge 40's lyrics... but then again he listens to DMX, Fabolous and Busta Rhymes so they probably went over his head

The problem with that statement is that you assume just because he listens to those East Coast artists that you mentioned that he fails to comprehend anything that isn't East Coast. I listen to E-40 and San Quinn, does that mean I can't pick up on what Mobb Deep is talkin about? No. You just got mad because he didn't have anything positive to say about E-40...

I agree with 98% of what Robert Alvis is saying. I actually like Kanye West as a rapper though because he has my kind of sense of humor and you can tell he's doing him - but that's me. The rest of what dude said was on point especially about the Hyphy "Movement". Calling Hyphy a movement degrades all actual movements that have taken place up to this point. Most of you are too young to know about that tho ..

lol @ the cat that tried to jump down nofx's throat thinking that he was the one that wrote that article. Mufuckas is sooooooooooo sensitive about some shit that they have no say so in :cheeky:

And whoever said that Jay-Z The Blueprint sucks, doesn't know Hip Hop.

well they arent on MY top 25 of all time, but i see the same shit pop up all the time on OTHER people's lists, so I was just saying they seem to be the accepted choices of "music critic" people or magazine people or east coast people or i dont know what the fuck. but they arent on my top 25 for sure. I think my entire top 25 wouldnt leave california at all.
