LMAO!! This is NOT the salary of an artist on a major. You forgot to include the 2 BIGGEST payoffs for major artists, and those are TOURS and PUBLISHING (why do you think Suge wants publishing signed over to him?). Then you have side shit like features and what not. When everything was said and done, Nelly only made $0.08 to the dollar off his first album. But he made a shitload of money from touring, and publishing (if he was smart). See, an artist who signs a contract without getting any publishing rights needs to take a step back and learn where the $$ is. How many major radio stations are there in the U.S? Let's say 2,000. So, you get 3.5 cents or 7 cents (depending on if you own all or half of your publishing) PER SPIN!! IF you get played like most artists do, you're looking at about one spin per hour, per station. In a month, that rakes in some dough...throughout the year, it's enough to make you rich. THEN, with shows, you're talkin about 5 figures per show...most major artists tour through the entire year. Add it up.

I COVERED ALL THAT..
