help....recording problem

ok me n my homies jus bought a condenser mic. it says it needs 48volt power supply. now so now i need that... obviously to power the mic./ we recording off a computer in cakewalk at home. now would a regular preamp work? cuz lota folks are sayin i need to have a mixer. but we on a budget so i aint tryna spend money on shit i dont HAVE to have u kno... so jus hit me back wit a lil info on this subject... thanks for the help yall. hopefully this topic aint been posted alreayd lol. i didnt kno whut to search for.

True but it could also be powered by a 9 volt battery depending on the mic.

Go from the pre amps OUT into your recording interfaces INPUT. BTW what are you using as a recording interface?
