Ok, I came to the conclusion that my used hard drive I bought off ebay is DAMAGED. I tried installing: Windows XP PRO, Windows XP PRO CORP, Windows 2000 PRO, Red Hat 9 LINUX, and all of them were bootlegged. So, I tried installing windows XP HOME I got from Dell and I got the same results. I don't know what it is, the seller told me the hard drive was never used. Maybe I don't know how to format and partition but it seems like I'm doing it right. I don't know how many times I have to format, I did it once and the cpu restarted and came back to the blue menu: press enter to setup XP, press R to used recovery console, press F3 to quit. I press enter AGAIN and brings me to the license agreement AGAIN, and now it asks to me to select a partition I want to setup XP in. So I choose the partition I just fomatted, then it says, There's already a WINDOWS file, choosing it may cause the operating system to disfunction. CLick yes to proceed, it will delete all files on this partition (I just did that, xp copied all files after I was formatting, so basically I'm starting over again). So It has to be the hard drive.

yeah I know. I've been waiting to get a hard drive for my desktop forever cost me $40 and 2 weeks to get here. But good thing the seller took insurance on the package and if y'all didn't know hard drives are extremely fragile, and the seller didn't put fragile on the box anywhere. Look what a tech had to say about the "operating system not found" message:

"Dropping your computer or harddrive can throw off the internal parts of the harddrive, and basically screw the whole thing up. When I used to build computers, if we ever dropped a harddrive, we'd just throw it away, since we just assumed they broke. HDs are very fragile... I assume you lost everything, and need to get a new HD."

Packaging was good but if you don't put fragile on the bitch then the handlers don't give a fuck they'll throw the box around instead of taking good care of it.

I FOUND OUT THE PROBLEM!!! I THREW AWAY THE JUMPERS WHEN I TOOK THE HDD OUT OF THE PACKAGE. I threw away the small jumpers in the back of the HDD. I went to maxtor, found out the problem. Found the jumper, setted it back, and windows xp installation is up and running!!!! One fuckin tiny itty bitty jumper fixed the whole thing. I feel like an super idiot. Thanks for all your help though, it was much appreciated.
