if i were u i would measure my shit first. Ur gonna spend way to much money on shit u dont need if u just buy a shit load of materials. The best stuff isnt kicker, kicker is a good brand to start out with if ur new to systems so A+ to u on pickin that one :) and if u really wanna be slappin, go with a ported box. Ported box's slap way more then sealed.
This is a direction in what i am tryin to do , basically thats an after picture of what i want. but i noe im not gonna get 4 12's all at once ima have 2 then throw 2 more when i get a lil more spending money ... and just a noobie question, i hear alot of ppl talkin bout amps and watts.... eh? and can i use 1 amp for 4 12's? lol ... help a brotha out please.... oh and ported box is what.. pics? thanks in advance raider lol

Ur suppose to run one amp to each sub if u really want to get the true RMS outta ur subs.
There is no problem with running one amp to two subs...as long as the amp has enough power.

I agree with pretty much everything else you said.

@hyfeeboy

If you're a beginner...and it seems like you want to take the easy way out...I would go with a sealed box.

Ported can get louder...but if you're going to be making the box yourself...you may want to try the sealed first.

u can run one amp to 4 subs, but ur gonna have to do alot of amp bridging and its not gonna hit as hard as u want. Ur suppose to run one amp to each sub if u really want to get the true RMS outta ur subs. Plus u dont need 4 12's. most people think that, the more subs u have the better ur shit sounds, which is wrong. I can get one 12" that sounds better then 3 12"s combind. cost more for the 1 12" but it shits on anything u can buy at best buy or wherever. if ur starting out i would go with 2 15" kicker CVR's ($250 for 2 15"s on ebay) then work ur way up from there.

as for the box goes, ported slapp harder. they allow the sub to push out more air causing more bass, which to me, its sounds like u want a lot of it. Depending on how big ur trunk is and how much space u have for the box is really gonna make a big difference in the sound quality of ur subs and ur system in general.

ported boxes look like this...

and if u really wanna have ur system slappin, u gotta find out what u want ur box tuned at. anywhere from 28 - 33 hertz is perfect for CVR's. if u want low hitting bass go with a ported box tuned at 30 hertz.
interesting , thanks bruh for all the help , dang near gonna go wit the 2 15' kickers then . yea i always thought the more subs the more "thump" you get but i guess i was wrong, and does bestbuy or circuit city have these kicker 15' subs cuz lol im tryin to get a system this weekend , i just got a buick lesabre and it got am/fm casseste deck and it is not crackin... last question since u noe bout these kicker subs how many watts should i aim for in a amp?

best buy might have them but they might cost a little more. I too have a buick Lesabre, 2002, and i got enought room in my trunk to run 5 15"'s lol but anyways, ur gonna probably wind up spending more then u thought since u have a lesabre. The buick dash is way to hard to be fuckin with with out the help of a professional. I took my car in to have a new deck installed and come to figure out that i had to have all my wiring redone just so i can run that deck (Pioneer 680) and to have that done its around $150, not including the deck, just the wiring. If i were you i would run 2 800watt amps, 1 for each sub. These subs rms are around 1000 watts each and i think the peek power is 1200wattz? not to sure. The best way to go is ebay tho, best buy will charge to much for shitty amps/subs. If u wanna cash out on a good amp look into Fosgate amps. Those get the job done!
you had to have your 2002 lesabre re wired? dang... i got a 93' so i noe my shit is gonna need to get re wired... but thanks i basically Know What i Need to get, but ive come to the conclusion that im not gonna make a box anymore , just too much hassel for me right now , i prolly could work on a custom while i have a box already hooked up in my trunk... I Know For sure Im gettin a Deck In This weekend no matter what, lol ... but i am gonna go to like the concord or colisium flea market and see if they have any boxs for sell and is this the subs your talkin bout?.. http://cgi.ebay.com/PAIR-2-NEW-05-K...2QQihZ008QQcategoryZ58035QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

edit: is this coo?

yeah u can run one amp to multiple subs but the right way to do it is have one amp for each sub.
The right way to do it?

It's not a matter of being right or wrong...there is absolutely no problem with running 1 amp to two subs.

1 amp on each sub is no more right.

ask any professional installer which is better. they'll tell u 1 amp per sub is the right way to run a good sounding system....
I don't have to ask a professional installer...I've been doing this for quite some time. You make it seem as though running 1 amp to 2 subs is somehow wrong...and that it won't sound good (or great).

If your amp can produce the amount of power needed...and your car can supply the amount of power needed...there should be no issues.

Say you have 2 subs...750 watts RMS and a 2500 watt amp. As long as my amp really puts out 2500 watts, and my car can supply the power needed...there should be no problems.

shit the right way to do it is cash out on a good amp. All the store brand shit u see at frys or best buy gets the job done, u might cop a 1600watt amp for $350 but to get true rms outta ur amp, u should be spending 1 dollar per watt.
I've never gone to Frys or Best Buy for my car audio. I know what to buy and how much to spend.

SO like i said, ask any real installer and dont listen to what ur friends tell u, i learned that the hard way.
I am a real installer...and I'm telling you that there is no problem with what I am saying.

and u install at what shop?

i never said installin 2 subs to one amp is a bad thing, i just said running 2 amps to each sub is better. Im running 2 15" L7's off of one Orion 2500D in a ported, so im not telling anyone to buy 2 amps, i just know that it make a difference.
Mine...aka my house. Just cause someone installs at a shop doesn't mean they know more than the next man. In fact...I've found out they know much less.

If you ran 1 amp on each L7...what difference is it gonna make?

Good pick on the Orion by the way. I used to own one...that thing was a beast.
