As the Titans and Albert Haynesworth zeroed in on a long-term contract last July, the big defensive tackle was getting nervous.

He had the team's proposal for a four-year contract worth roughly $32 million. And he was on the verge of taking it.

"I was like, 'I'll take four years for $34 million' and they were like, 'Nope,' '' Haynesworth recalled Thursday. "I was like, 'If you move a million here or there I'll take that,' and they were like, 'Nope.'

"It was frustrating, but I almost took it. I look at it now and I'm happy I didn't. I can now set up all my family and their kids with what I got. It worked out pretty well, I guess. ''

not sayin im anymore bothered by the absence of haynesworth on our roster but this is crazy...he was coming off one of the more dominant seasons at DT EVER and titans couldnt get this very reasonable deal done....Bud Adams has been knwon for black balling his star FAs but this is crazy to me....he woulda cost less to sign him to this deal then to put the franchise tag on him....:knockout:

Damn, the Titans are hella dumb for not making the move. I don't think MB350 is crying , just stating the fact that Haynesworth could have gotten alot less to saty in Tenn. if their cheap asses could have ponied up a little more $$$$$.

first off, i think you meant to say "low balled" and most if not all gm's/owners do it, its a business. secondly i laugh at the fact that you put a disclaimer out there saying that it doesnt bother you that he is gone. Its ok to be upset over it, he was what made your d line work. because of double teams on him it gave other members of the defense the chance to flourish

funny thing is we played just as well throughout all of hanyesworths many injurys the past 2 years...

some of our best games came with hanyesworth out...hes missed atleast 3 games the past two seasons and weve been top 5/10 defense no matter what...

im not worried....and we got players to plug in nicely...hanyesworth is a beast but lazy...now that hes on one of the more nationaly covered teams everyone will see it...

The Titans were more worried about securing their qb position up than defensive tackle. Vince Young is so garbage they were more worried about keeping Kerry Collins around than Haynesworth... LOL

Titans did fine without him on the line this season. They beat my team. I think people are giving too much credit to Haynesworth and not enough credit to his supporting cast. Other people on the field enable him to make plays. Washington's about to realize they done fucked up yet again.
