Not exactly. The majority of unknown performers perform at little bar & grill spots / bars. Little hole in the wall places. And let's say the whack performer happens to go up and everybody is dancing or rooting for dude. It becomes a bad karaoke night, but the crowd doesn't give a shit because they're just out there to have a good time. They're drunk & love whatever is going on at that moment. It's easier for a performer to grip a small crowd in a small venue that serves alcohol that it would if you threw him in a bigger sober venue. Like a car show etc. Smaller places, alcohol, smaller crowd just gives an illusion that the place is cracking.

All of this also gives the whack performer the illusion that he rocked the crowd.

I got a boy who sends me HORRIBLE stuff all the time. Its hard for me to even respond cuz I'm worried about being a hater. What I do now is just find ONE good thing about it, and tell him that thing is good. Don't mention that shit that sucks. Hopefully he can read between the lines. His flow is wack, his lyrics are wack, the beats are wack, the topic is wack, but if I find one line I like, I tell him its a good line.

Then again, if my friend was an "artist", his shit would be good. If he's wack, he's not an artist. Just some stupid ass kid who thinks rapping is easy and doesn't understand the elements that make it good. I know he'll never blow up, so I just appreciate the fact that he's bouncing it off me and don't expect much.
