so... because Wayne embraces different cultures and music, brings it into his own style; he's "fallin' off"?

I dont know man. For me to like new music is sort of rare, but I can dig Carter 3. Shit. Lil Wayne is one of the few cats putting out new music I'm even interested in, and I think that's a result of the fact he keeps moving in different directions and trying different things from an artistic perspective.

Im a rock/rap guy, and so is Lil Wayne. So for you rap cats, obviously you're not gonna be feeling a rock guitar riff over a hip hop bass line.
You realize that by liking lil wayne you share the same favourate artist as lil 10 year old white girls!hahaha oh god commercial rap sucks horse dick

Rock and singing is the PAST bro. All the BEST rock artists are fucking dead.

And rock isn't a superior style of music. While some pretty terrible rap gets played on the airwaves, good hip hop is just as hard to make as good rock.

I do agree with your first statement on a small scale, but yet and still, I would rather listent to old rock than ANY rap. Not when I was younger, bt now that I'm grown I don't fuck with rap besides Kanye & Wayne. Rock NEEDS a new great frontman, that's the problem imo.

Rock is not dead, *The Axl Rose Project*, Metallica, Nickleback & Daghtry ( sucks ), AC/DC all pretty much sold more than anyone this year. On top of that many of those bands didn't have as much commerical/radio/club play of hip hop artists.

I listened to rap for all my younger years and respected it/somewhat still "respect" it, but rock music, and playing instruments with your hands, using real vocals and hitting notes is what music is all about. Rock, and anything with real instruments and actual singing for that matter is FAR superior to rap music.

Doesn't mean rap sucks ( even though that is my stern decision ), but any thing with actual instrumnets is way better than a guy lying about his life, promoting murder, and using a machine to make sounds.

And I've heard T9 plenty of times and really, really feel like he is too sloppy and cartoony to be considered a great rapper. Plus his singles/videos choices are the worst things ever.

i mean, carter 3 was the highest selling album last year, but it seems like no one is feelin him anymore. no homo.
Who gives a f...? It dont matter how many records this prick sells it doesnt take away the fact he is wack as hell.

Word of advice, dont speak for everyone when you say "he was everyones favourite rapper" !!! Just because he was your favourite rapper dont mean he was everyone elses, as far as im concerned lil wayne is bullshit and is one of the prime reasons why mainstream hiphop is full of repeatitive, watered down shit music. The guy is a bad advert for hiphop and represents everything which hiphop aint.

dude if the only rappers you listen too are Kanye West and Lil Wayne you never really liked rap in the first place.

I've been listening to rap since the Chronic ( I was only like 8-9 years old when it came out ), know damn near everything there is to know about rap ( try me ), and am just flat out disgusted with it over the last year and a half. I've got a billion valid reasons why. I even know of those shitty cali rappers that get dickrode on this site, don't question my knowledge of the art form. And my extensive knowledge is the ONLY reason I would speak on it like that.

There is only so far you can go with vocals and a beat machine. It's just so simple. Singing and actual musical instruments ( ever heard of them ) are the standard and the future and will ALWAYS remain the dominant style of music long after rap is done for.

At least Kanye speaks on his personal feelings, instead of pretending to be super killer/ drug dealer like 95% of every rapper out there.

And Wayne IS talented, he crafts great, catchy songs and has fantastic punchlines. I may not be much of a fan like i was during the mixtape phase, but if your saying he's not talented you must be biased, whether you don't like his image or where he's from maybe. Sales aren't everything, but the kid has millions of hardcore fans, and that doesn't happen to people with no talent.

his flows is trash, he was way better in the Hot Boy era yet wasnt even the best on the Cashmoney roster. Mothafucka be mumbling so bad you cant understand what hes saying half the time. Someone said it best in another thread only to 90's babies is he the greatest rapper alive.

He took it much further than Ja Rule. And Ja Rule went hard on his first album, which is almost a classic

So did Lil Wayne on the late 90s/early 2000s CMR material, but as it was said above, he was nowhere near the best of the crew (even Mannie Fresh rapped better) and I always had trouble distinguishing him from Turk. But that type of flow he had back then was something original and tight (where "tight" is defined as well-fitting the type of music they were making).

But vocoders and now rock music? From somebody who did nothing but boast about his bling for the first 6 years of his career? LOL...
