1GB of video memory? Hardly. 512MB is plenty. Not sure where you are getting that number. Even so, the amount of memory on your VGA card is only part of making games run smoothly.

Here is what the minimum and recommended requirements are for this game:

Minimum System Requirements
* OS: Windows Vista - Service Pack 1 / XP - Service Pack 3
* Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8Ghz, AMD Athlon X2 64 2.4Ghz
* Memory: 1.5GB, 16GB Free Hard Drive Space
* Video Card: 256MB NVIDIA 7900 / 256MB ATI X1900

Recommended System Requirements
* OS: Windows Vista - Service Pack 1 / XP - Service Pack 3
* Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4Ghz, AMD Phenom X3 2.1Ghz
* Memory: 2 GB (Windows XP) 2.5 GB (Windows Vista)
* 18 GB Free Hard Drive Space
* Video Card: 512MB NVIDIA 8600 / 512MB ATI 3870

You can run this game adequately for less than $400 (entire system).

@JasonZ-bottom line, you need to update your VGA card.
you build me a computer for 400$ matter of fact you build me a computer for 700$ that can run this game at 60 frames at all with at least high settings and i will buy it for you. trust me i got a 1000$ and i dont get 60+ frames so you will not get 60 frames with that pc. the recommended specs are todays min specs. and yea those specs can run it but at low settings and a small resolution. my cousin paid 400$ for a video card. and he got an i7 processor with 6 gb of ram, and he hardly gets 60 frames constant. so i will tell you that you will not run this game for a 400$ computer. its impossible. and i know stuff about computers so i know what im talking about

First of all, no one said anything about running anything at any specific frame rates....i simply posted THEIR recommendations for it, which ulitmately PROVES that you are WRONG. You CAN run that game with the specs posted. Can you run this game using a $400 PC? YES.

Second, I work in IT, so I think I now what the FUCK I am talking about. You can take your high and mighty shit somewhere else.

lol IT, i got my MCSE degree and IT lol

but yea you can run the game at 1280x1024 resolution with 30 frames and low resolution with a 400$ pc.

but who the hell wants to play a game that will max out at 30 frames. you dont want the damn game to be choppy and stall when you play it. video card plays a huge role in this game and dont tell me that 8800 gt can run it or a 9 series card as well. cuz they WONT. as i have stated the recommended specs are todays minimal specs. and this goes for all the new games. prime example is CRYSIS

NO one said what resolutions...that was not the criteria. Can it run on the recommended specs? Its a yes or no question, nothing more. I answerred YES, becuase it is a FACT.

This game plays FINE on a 9 series...are you on crack? Here is video PROOF:

Specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 2.66 GHz
GeForce 9500GT 512MB
3 GB RAM
Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 32Bit

This game is fucked up to begin with, as the programmers did a SHIT job, and its obvious by this thread. Even if you DO have a great card, some cards produce inporefections when playing, like the rain looking like snow and blotting out the screen.

GTA IV and Crysis...not even CLOSE to the same thing. Should we compare apples to oranges next?

thanks for the video it just proves my point lol. yea the pc ran that game but look how slooowwwww it is. the game is running at 20 frams max in that video. and at 35 seconds it goes into the 10 -12 frames. you cant play the game being that slow. its too unresponsive. games should not be played below 30 frames.

yes the coding of this game is not optimized at all. the programmers did a horrible job at it. just like many games out there. but i will not play a game that will not get me at least 30 frames. so anything under 30 frames is not playable in my eyes.

i mean if you can play a game at 15 frames then more power to you
