Im not a fan of Don Nelson's coaching style, its obvious he won't get a team much further than the 2nd round of the playoffs.
However he is the best rebuilding coach ever. He helped turn around the Bucks when he coached there, then the Warriors, then the Mavs and then Warriors again. Its no coincidence every team he has coached got better when he arrived. If it weren't for a bunch of injuries and Rowell sticking his nose in business maybe the W's would've been better the last couple seasons. I could go either way with him staying or leaving depending on who his replacement is, but I won't be mad if he's back to finish his contract.
what he said

as long as the new owners wanna win i dont care who they are, Ellisons deep pockets wont make an impact on the team since there is a salary cap. if there was no cap id be a lil bitter Ellison didnt get it.

the new owners have ENOUGH money... as long as they're willing to spend what it takes to win (which it seems they are) doesn't really matter that Ellison had more because of the salary cap

i like the new owners slightly better because they already have NBA experience and seem like more die hard fans, more like mark cuban style compared to an owner without that hands on fan type knowledge.

so considering how cohan did try to screw us over 1 last royal time, things worked out very very well.

funny you like mark cuban seeing as how the person he brought in to turn his franchise around is don nelson....
i used cuban as an example of a more fan type owner compared to a business man owner.

but since you seem be stuck on nelson i'll speak on it.

how old is nelson? he used to be a decent coach that did help build a few teams in the regular season.

he has 0 success in the playoffs and he should have stopped coaching 4 years ago.

while i said he did help build a few teams, it wasnt on the same level as larry brown. meaning, nelson wasnt the main reason teams improved, it was drafting a superstar in Dirk Nowitzki and making other good transactions.

for the warriors, he has destroyed teams rather than build them.

1st, Chris Webber.
2nd, Al Harrington.
3rd, Stephen Jackson.

no i dont want him to coach another year of our team, he should have been fired after the 54 win season. i wouldnt care if he coached somewhere else, and would actually enjoy watching him lose in another city instead of ours.

Again Cohan fucked the warrior fans.. he coudl've sold to Ellison for a higher price but DIDNT'??!?

WTF?
Nooooo. If Ellison wanted the team, he would have got it. AND if Ellison bought the team he would have payed less then the new owners did because he would be buying out Cohan and keeping the other 20% minority owners. Its not fuckin anyone by selling the teams to people with NBA experience, and who want it bad enough to pay for it.

If Nelson quit coaching after the Mavs, the Warriors would've never accomplished the biggest upset in playoffs history.

The Mavs didn't draft Dirk, get your facts straight. The Bucks did and traded him for Tractor Traylor. You don't think Nelson had anything to do with that trade? You're wrong. He had just as much to do with acquiring Dirk as he did with shipping away Webber.

Trading Webber was obviously a huge mistake. Harrington is a clown and a career journeyman. Stephen Jackson praised Nelson when the W's were winning and played his best ball under Nellie.

0 success in the playoffs? C'mon man. I don't think any other coach could have coached the 8th seed Warriors to beat the 1st seed Mavs that year.

He actually had the highest bid.. its just he was late in placing his bid and by i think a couple minutes or an hour.. and they decided to be bitches about it and not accept it.. im sure theres a lot of shit that goes down behind closed doors we never see or hear.

I dont think Ellison was as serious about buying the team as the papers made it seem. He's the kind of guy, with the kind of money, if he wanted something it would be his momentarily. Were talking about a guy with the biggest yacht in the world and a chrome plated cobra, lol. Fans were excited at the prospect of someone with money throw a new staff and a bunch of money at the team. I think the group that got the team with NBA experience and the want is a better step in the right direction then what Ellison may or may not have done.
