Yes it's an island off the mainland but it's still Italy. And as for being a part of italy after WWI.... Sicily was already part of the united kingdom of italy since the 1800's. and if u want to get into details about not being united with "italy" all of the regions were seperate kindoms at times. they all had their own dialect, foods, culture, etc...

im not denying sicily is the far most unique/different region in italy, but it's still part of italy.

U can DEFINETLY tell the difference in looks between Sicilian and Northern Italians....Southern Italians are mixed with Arab and African blood (but don't tell THEM that lol)

And just so u know....Comin' from someone who HAS been to the "Motherland", Mafiosi do exist in Northern parts of Italy but not NEARLY as influential as the "Black Hand" of Sicily & Naples etc.

You can tell the difference of a person from differnet regions in mexico (central/north/yucatan) and i dont know how many countries have completely different ethnic groups, but still fall under one country.

Roma has its own flag too. sicilians conisder themselves more unique and celebrate it more than other people in italy but it's not something to dispute- it's not a colony or posession- it's part of italy.

One day i go to New York to a bigga hotel. I go down to eat soma breakfast. I tella da waitress i wanna 2 piss toast. She bringa me only 1 piss. I tell her i wanna 2 piss. She say go to da toilet. Later i go to have soma lunch at Drake restuarant, the waitress bring me a spoon, a knife but no fock. I tella her i wanna fock. She tells me everybody wanna fock. I go to checkout and the man at the counter say peace on u. I say piss on u too u son of a bitch.
