I agree. I can't listen to a rapper knowing all the shit he's saying and describing isn't his persperctive but written by somebody else. I can't take that serious... Dr. Dre for example.

its goes back to how most "pop" music is created. Most artists dont write there own music. People come up writing for others theres big money in it. Ray Luv for instance co wrote some songs for 2 Pac....

I agree with you cats though its pretty faulty if you dont write the majority of your songs.... I think writing takes more talent than spitting...

i agree with everyone, i wouldn't support a rapper who has a ghostwriter. it's weird how that's openly accepted with so many artists in different genres though...

Actually Ray Luv helped him write 1 song "Trapped", which was his 1st single.

Theres a big difference between a CO-WRITER and a GHOST WRITER...

A lot of artists have Co-writers...actually MOST artists do...Kanye had Rhymefest w/ Jesus Walks for example.

A Ghost writer is when the artist pays a writer to write for them, without the actual writer recieving written credits. Dr. Dre had Jay-Z w/ Still D.R.E.

This been happening for decades as a matter of fact back inthe days artist never wrote they shit they always had a writting team. This comes in handy for certain artist for example lets say you have a rapper that can only battle and he has the delivaray and voice but not the appeal in his lyrics to make a hit song. Well basically what they did was hire a writer or a team to arrange a hit song then the artist spits it. Every Major label has a team of writers working for them not only to write songs but to give artist ideas and concepts

^^ True...it seems to me that the stock of a Hip Hop producer is declining a little though...with all of these cats either giving away freebies or selling beats for $50 bucks and what not. Seems like a lot of rappers/emcees aren't willing to pay for good product anymore now that they can get something sub-par free or damn near it.

i like ghost writting. i wish more artists would get one...theres nothing i hate more than a rapper fucking up a good beat by flowing all wrong over it...nevermind the lyrical content. i can deal with a wack verse. i cant deal with lyrics that dont mesh well with the beat. this is why i also dont like when rappers rap over commercial beats on mixtapes...they rarely come out sounding right
