I waz chopping it up on the fone with my Auntie that lives down in Hawthorne last nite & we got on the subject of funerals & spoke briefly on my Granddaddys funeral back in 1994. Az I recall that had 2 be the most ghetto funeral I ever attended. People were laughing & chuckling during the eulogy. No one cryed except hiz widow who he married 3 weeks prior. Hiz coffin waz so small( he waz 6'6) they had 2 fold hiz legs. They also had 2 use hiz jail mugshot 4 hiz pix on the obituary. Hiz jail # waz showing & everything.

Now for the record either though hiz death waz sudden my fam couldn't afford 2 give him the proper barriel. My Grandpops waz a rolling stone & a deadbeat dad & waz never around. He had just started comin around 2 about 6 months before he passed so u can't expect your kids & grandkids 2 throw u a grand finale type of funeral.

Thiz iz the siccness so I know I aint the only person that done attended a funeral that waz hella ghetto.

HAHAHAHAHHAAHHAAH @ Rose Town....

When my husbands uncle died a few years ago, my mother in law planned the whole thing. then, for some reason, the grandpa stepped in and changed everything. The funeral didn't happen for 2 weeks after he died, and by the time the day of rolled around, the whole family was funkin. When we got to the funeral, the people from the funeral parlor wouldn't even let them bring his body in until everyone in the church donated enough money to pay for the services. About halfway through the funeral, my mother in law stood up and started screamin "you were never a good daddy" to her father. I was fuckin mortified.

It was a closed casket..he fell into the Sacramento River while getting on a party boat. They didn't find his body for about 3 days.

Fuck!!! Thatz crazy.

I also heard there's a big difference between black funerals & white funerals. I've never been 2 a non-black funeral but I heard the white funerals are more laid back & they don't let it all out like niggaz do.

they burried my cousin in the backyard. in a casket made of 2x4's nailed together. but they burried him with the most expensive dirt they could buy from the gardening store, so i guess it wasnt that ghetto. we all poured out sum cisco for him doe.
