Yup thats good advice, tell him to become an electrician or something like that. Theres good money, you learn on the job and eventually you will have the skills to start your own business and make good $$$

Damn I'm in kinnnda the same thing. I've got a son, a girl and an associates degree from a wack ass tech school. My job right now is 11/hr @ 40 hrs a week which don't do too much ( thank god my girl works too). I wanna go back to school and get my Bachelors but I don't know how the fuck I'm gonna cut hours and then pay for school. Anyone have any good/bad experiences with online programs?

up here elecs get paid the most.....im a welder im just not certified to do it....now underwater welders get paid the super big bucks....but being a welder is some dirty shit, theres alot of downsides to it, alot of teh time your in cramped spaces and over time it will really take a toll on your body, and knees...my brother was a welder his whole life, i went into sheet metal because it covers and array of different jobs...one job i could be running vent work and installing heaters and air conditioning units, next job i could be in the shop fabbing duct work, or i could installing walls and units in galleys and bathrooms...plus you usally work with a crew so you got people to work with and talk to, where as a welder your under the helmet all day sometimes all cramped up, breathing in nasty ass smoke...yea you can wear a respirator if need be but, it is so inconvienient and uncomfortable with yoru helmet on....but good luck to you homie, theres always a demand for tradesmen
