Well we finally have some intellecutally inclined folks on this message board that are against this bullshit. I agree with the small minority of folks on this message board that feel the figure of speech we are using these days is highly inferior. The sad part about this is that I haven't realized this until reading some of the posts. If you tell people you are doing the dummy retarded, what are you trying to say ?? This kind of shit I would expect from a 14 year old, not grown men at a club. Even though I am ecstatic about the bay area push the last year and 40 wata doin his thing, we need to rethink this whole movement. Rap was so fuckin tight 10 years ago even though it was mob shit because of the stories and life long tales it told. Now rapping about how retarted you act at a club makes the money. These are the life and times in which ignorance and stupidity makes the money. I know I might not be making much sense in conveying my message of gangsta rap vs. hyphy and krunk type music but if you listen to the lyrics and what folks used to rap about during the NWA days it was some real ass shit. Now every other mother fuckin song is about either booti, gettin stupid, or having a boat load of money and showing the world. I will always and forever listen to rap and keep up wit da new shit and even have it in my steady rotation.......but the way da game is goin i'm ashamed at times.

i may be missing something but i've been keeping up with alot of the new releases and it seems like there is a mixture of hyphy and mobb in alot of the albums.(content wise,not necessarily beat wise) some dudes got real shit to say on their albums still. either way i'ma support the bay.....hyphy will open the doors for other bay artists that ain't on that bandwagon and show the many styles we have out here.....i hope

Thanks for all the responses fellaz. I agree with many of you. My point in posting this message was that the lyrics in many of the hyphy songs are just plain stupid. The metaphors used make no sense. Also, it is sad to see that in order to make it on the main stream platform, we have to make songs about either being retarded, chasing a big ass, or having a boat load of money. I don't like the way the game is headed. I'm not even comparing Mob vs. Hyphy even though it may seemed like it. Rap 10 years ago was overall better than rap now. Even if you look at the east coast......Nas, Biggie, and Wu Tang were original, thought provoking niggaz that had something to say. I don't mind hearing a song every once in a while bout mobbin on spinners, but damn why does every song dat is in da mainstream gotta be about da same shit. Where is the creativity ?? Where is the originality ?? I wish there were more rappers that rapped about some real ass topics that made a nigga ponder....than just club knockers and showing off the materialistic shit the game got a nigga.
