You thought the South were the only ones to get dirty, well these boys been puttin' in dirty work for years now. Straight out of Vallejo, California, the duo of Hot Dirty and Work Dirty are apart of the same bloodline as E-40, Mugzi, and all other close pig-chain flashin' relatives. The DB'z have pushed over 15,000 copies of their underground street mixtapes, which is what caught Mugzi and E-40's eye to sign them to the Sick Wid It label. Now getting ready to release their first group album, "Speakin Mannish", the two have a guaranteed street classic on their hands. The DB'z don't consider themselves "hyphy" artists but point out that their music can fall under that category.
"Our style is lyrical with it. We ain't just like 'Go dumb, go stupid!' We ain't got a hyphy style but you can go hyphy to our songs," explains Hot.
You might remember the DB'z from the Bay Bridges compilation, Sick Wid It Umbrella and various other Sick Wid It projects. Can we expect some of the same type of material from them on this album?
Work explains, "I't's shittin on the other shit we did. I believe--I'm not trying to be too cocky--we are the best lyricist around this mothafucka. It's alot of other good ones, we ain't taking credit from nobody but we spit. This is gonna be a bay area, west coast classic. The album go to work, it go hard. From track 1 all the way to the last one." The world got a sneak peek as to what the DB'z have in store with the new album with their new single "Stewie". Work explains how that Droop-E produced, E-40 featured song came together.
"That song just came out of the woodwork. We was sitting there--me, Droop, 40, Hot, and the other little cousin Maury, Droop-E little brother. He's the actual mothafucka on the hook, a little kid, like 10 years old, he raw too. We was all just vibin and 40 was like 'Stewie! Man we stewie!' We was drinkin' a little somethin mixed with some Crunk Juice. So I'm like 'we in here feeling real stewie.' Droop-E came with the beat, he was making it and we like 'Ooooh that's Stewie.' 40 was like, 'Yeah call it Stewie' and we just put it together! Little cuz laid it down. We come from a long line of talent. Big shout to 40 and Mugz all this would not be possible without them."
So what exactly is Stewie you ask? The DB'z break it down.
"Stewie is right along the lines of hyphy, mainy, ignorant, mannish, ridin yellow buses, retarded. 'We stewie maine!' We been saying that for a hot minute, we just had to bring it to the light. 'I'm so stewie right now!' You could be perkin, and being stewie. You could be in your clean ass whip dippin' with a nice little broad with you, pocket full of money. You feeling yourself, you like 'I'm so damn stewie.' 'Wassup with you? You lookin real clean, you lookin' real stewie today!' Whatever you want it to be. It's a positive thing. That's what it's about right now, positivity."
So check out the new single right here on West Coast Rydaz, "Stewie" featuring E-40, with production by Droop-E. It's a family thing. Get stewie to it if you will.
