i heard 50 say his new album is supposed to be like Get Rich, but we'll have 2 wait an see
Every rapper says that every album. "This album I'm going back to [Insert best/most popular CD]."

I can't say I've ever given GRODT a full listen, but that's cause I get bored halfway through every time. So no, it's not a classic to me, but I do still listen to Many Men and sometimes Wanksta.

Even if you ain't a fan of 50, you can't deny this is a classic album. I remember it was sold out in a lot of spots in Dallas within hours. As corny/ignorant as it is he made it "kool" to be a "gangsta" as far as the mainstream goes

When I think of classic hip hop albums, I think of albums like Me Against the World, Illmatic, Ready to Die, Enter the 36 Chambers, The Chronic...not Get Rich or Die tryin.

Its a really good album, but it ain't in the same breath as the albums above.

yes. it had like 18 tracks and they were almost all dope as fuck. I didn't fuck with like 3 songs on there (you like my style, many men, and wanksta), but the rest of the songs more than made up for it. It was one of the first consistent rap albums in years and it launched 50's career and basically ended ja rule's. No matter what your opinion of 50 is if you like hip hop music you should be able to appreciate that album.

the album was a classic 2 months after it came out....lets keep it funky...before get rich or die tryin, the rap game was dead. Ja rule had it...he was pumpin out hits, but it was all him! Get rich or die tryin put the hunger back in the music. really thiink about it

Rap Game 2000-2004<<<<<<GET RICH OR DIE TRYIN>>>>Rap Game After

yea, in my opinion its a classic.

it wasn't his first album, but it was his debut to the world...

basically every track was dope as fuck when it first came out. i can still listen to all of them and appreciate them...

massacre / and especially curtis were garbage though

For me it's a classic despite having a few filler tracks like PIMP. I haven't finished listening to all the songs from his first album "Power of the Dollar," but so far it's as good or better than GRODT.
All the songs 50's made after that start sounding the same. I think that's why he's doing animation, and pimp comedy skits, because those are the only things keeping his name out there.
