bay area rap is the shit. i dont think kc rappers try to mimick the bay at all. any rapper is going to sound more like the music that they like, and i think that a lot of kansas city rappers just happen to like rap from the west coast. i dont believe kansas city has an actual "sound" because i never really hear the same sound from any two artists, so if i hear a rapper from kc that sounds like he is from the bay, i just label that as "his sound". i think that would be like sayin that people from philly mimick new york rappers.
