oh and remember when my boston team got KG allen and always had pierce, every1 said we would drop our PPG significantly but they all average +15 and still play extremely well together. thats what i think gasol will do with tht lakers.

When Bynum steps on the floor again, our front 3 will be 7 ft, 7ft, and 6-11.
That's the first thing I thought about when I heard about the trade. That's a stupid tall and extremely long front line (if Gasol starts).

If Fisher can keep his 3-pt shooting consistent ... whoa

^^^^are u stupid? c'mon man u know there gonna start him he's the 2nd best player they got now. lol
He asks if I'm stupid, lol

They might start him until Bynum gets back, but when Bynum gets back, Gasol MIGHT end up being the 6th man in favor of Walton. That's instant, versatile big man points off of the bench. Not many teams have that, if any. Plus you can't play him many minutes because he needs a backiotomy.

Starters

Fisher
Bryant
Walton
Odom
Bynum

Think from a basketball perspective and not on a name recognition perspective.

Walton is a complementary player which is what you need in a system like the triangle. Luke Walton is the perfect fit in the starting lineup because of his understanding of and ability to run the triangle offense. Gasol isn't a complementary player, he's an individualistic (potential superstar) player.

^^^i agree with alot your saying but you cant have someone on the bench that is as good as Gasol. like i said maybe they will at 1st for him to get used to the triangle but once he got it it's on. i think they would start gasol over odom and i feel they should start him over bynum if that was ever the case which i think it wont be. and i was playin about you beeing stupid but it would be stupid to play him off the bench. why not play walton off the bench for the exact reasons u say? thats a good idea.

I think you can. Why play your entire hand when you don't have to?

i think they would start gasol over odom ...
lol ... as ho hum as Lamar Odom can be sometimes, you still have to gameplan against him. Odom causes matchup problems, he has to start. Not to say he couldn't cause problems coming off the bench, but ...

Because Walton's a facilitator. He's a set up guy. He's not giving you anything other than ball handling and good passing off the bench. That's ok but it's not that impact that you want from a 6th man. What Gasol could potentially give is points and rebounds against second string big men. I'd take that off of the bench over a set up "run the offense" guy any day.

If Ginobli can come off the bench, then Gasol certainly can. I actually think he would excel in a 6th man role, destroying other teams reserves.

well it wouldnt be the entire hand if u have odom and walton on the bench

u have to game plan against gasol even more and when he goes out u bring in odom who ppl wouldnt think much about since they worried about gasol beastin all day

but hey i respect ur opinion and it wouldnt be a bad idea saving a threat like gasol on the bench but i highly doubt they do it. gasol is better than both big guys they have and not alot of players that are that good feel respected coming off the bench and a team wouldnt pay as much as they are for a guy to come off the bench. these are just my thoughts anyway and even though teams run deep they never do what ur stating really

kike i just said after u posted i agree but i dont think it would ever happen. a big man that is that good needs to start in the game and lamar should play this role u guys think gasol would be good at because lamar would be even better at it and u'll still have the better guy starting the game.

Gasol doesn't pose the same problems as Odom. Odom is a versatile, potential triple double threat (when he wants to be) and Gasol is a specific threat to your bigs (albeit a versatile one for his position).

There's no cut and dry answer here, BUT ... it isn't as easy as, "It's Pau Gasol. He's really good so he's going to start".

^^^^dunno who ur quoting but in a way it is kinda that simple. i mean yeah he has to fit in well with the triangle and has to build chemistry with the players but i'll bet anything they start him.

Wasn't quoting anyone in particular. Just quoting the general & obvious reaction to Gasol going to the Lakers.

If anything, he may disrupt chemistry because he's injury prone.
