I like both alot...it's what makes the HIP HOP CULTURE what it is....DIVERSE. On the gangsta tip...I just think there will ALWAYS be loop holes in their credability no matter who you are because if you really so Gangsta you'd in the pen DONE DEAL PERIOD. As for the hip hoppers...I hate the fact that some of them look at it like there is no real skill or no home for it in the business. My stand point is this...we don't all wanna have to go to a dictionary to break down what your saying to understand it. I love it all tho even the Playa shit...I'm somewhere in between.
Probably the biggest thing that bugs me these days bout Rap, Hip Hop whatever, is that folks seem to think you BITCHMADE if you don't do Gangsta Rap...like you soft or something. Rap don't make you hard.

Ya I like both, but all I use to listen to back in the day was just gangsta shit.......just love hearing them mobbed out beats. But then the lyrics got a little too repetitive....so then I got into the more Hip Hop shit. theres alot of rappers that rap street but keep it hip hop like Hiero, LL, Rasco, Planet Asia, Dr.oop Capone ect... They rap about all kinds of subjects you can relate to. Now the only gangsta shit I like is the creative gangsta rappers like Andre Nickatina, San Quinn, E-40, First degree, Yuk, Bro lynch hung ect...
But for some reason I love the west coast shit more than anything. theres tight east coast shit too like Eastern Conference, Def Jux, Mobb Deep, Camp Lo, Big L(rip), and others. I guess it all comes down to I like anything with good lyrics and tight beats.

i love em both... i love tongue twistin metaphors and i love to hear some smooth killa flows. just depends on my moods. i thinkn that there are definitely some cats out there that combine both and that versitility makes them one up on the game. i will have to say that the gangsta beats are always better IMO.
